: Pain is the most common symptom of osteoarthritis (OA), and it leads to functional decline, such as decreased mobility and limitations in activities of daily living, which leads to difficulties in social participation, increased social isolation, and economic burden. Muscle weakness can be a cause of OA symptoms. The purpose was to analyze the effects of resistance training on improving pain, strength, and function in OA and to analyze the effects by intervention duration and joint.

This study systematically reviews the effects of muscle strength exercises on muscle mass and strength in stroke patients by analyzing randomized controlled trials. Ten studies, involving a total of 378 stroke patients, were included in the meta-analysis. The standardized mean difference (SMD) and confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a random effects model.

This study was to determine the effects of robot rehabilitation on motor function and gait in children with cerebral palsy (CP) and the effect of robot type. Inclusion criteria were children with any type of CP, robot rehabilitation studies, non-robot rehabilitation comparison groups, outcomes related to motor function and gait, and randomized controlled trials. PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases were searched.

The situation is such that there is a lack of research analyzing the effect of exercise therapy during the rehabilitation period of patients after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Therefore, the purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to analyze the effects of exercise therapy on the balance and gait of patients after THA. The studies selected for this study were based on the PICO as follows: P (Patient)-patients after THA, I (Intervention)-exercise therapy, C (Comparison)-control and other therapy groups, O (Outcome)-balance and gait.

Despite community-based interventions to decrease the caregiving burden on family caregivers of people with dementia (PwD), long-term assessment of community-based public programs is lacking. Therefore, the study aims to identify the long-term effects of community-based dementia caregiver intervention on the caregiving burden and healthcare utilization among family caregivers for PwD. Additionally, we investigated the predictors of caregiving burden and healthcare utilization.

Effect of a Nitrite/Nitrate-Based Accelerator on the Strength Development and Hydrate Formation in Cold-Weather Cementitious Materials.

Recently, there has been increased use of calcium-nitrite and calcium-nitrate as the main components of chloride- and alkali-free anti-freezing agents to promote concrete hydration in cold weather concreting. As the amount of nitrite/nitrate-based accelerators increases, the hydration of tricalcium aluminate (CA phase) and tricalcium silicate (CS phase) in cement is accelerated, thereby improving the early strength of cement and effectively preventing initial frost damage. Nitrite/nitrate-based accelerators are used in larger amounts than usual in low temperature areas below -10 °C.

Photocatalytic Performance Evaluation of Titanium Dioxide Nanotube-Reinforced Cement Paste.

Considering the increase in research regarding environmental pollution reduction, the utilization of cementitious material, a commonly used construction material, in photocatalysts has become a desirable research field for the widespread application of photocatalytic degradation technology. Gynostemma pentaphyllum Ethanolic Extract Protects Against Memory Deficits in an MPTP-Lesioned Mouse Model of Parkinson's Disease Treated with L-DOPA.

This study investigated the effects of ethanol extract from Gynostemma pentaphyllum (GP-EX) on memory deficits in the 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-lesioned mouse model of Parkinson's disease (PD) (MPTP-lesioned mice). MPTP (30 mg/kg/day, 5 days)-lesioned mice showed deficits of habit learning memory and spatial memory, which were further aggravated by treatment with L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) (25 mg/kg, 21 days). However, treatment with GP-EX (50 mg/kg, 21 days) ameliorated memory deficits in MPTP-lesioned mice treated with L-DOPA (25 mg/kg): GP-EX prevented the decreases in retention latency time in the passive avoidance test and tyrosine hydroxylase-immunopositive cells and dopamine levels in the nigrostriatum.
