The aim of this study was presenting significance of diagnostic process in doctor's daily routine. A 45-year-old patient for a planned laparotomy due to left ovarian cyst detected with a routine transvaginal ultrasound. She did not report any symptoms.

The Level of Fear in the Polish Police Population during the COVID-19 Pandemic with the Impact of Sociodemographic Variables.

This study has a twofold objective. First, we aim to measure the levels of fear among Polish police officers using the COVID-19 Fear Scale (FCV-19S) that has a stable unidimensional structure allowing for the provision of additional data by combining variables. This structure allows the second objective to be met to measure the correlation with sociodemographic variables.

Effect of 5 different cervical collars on optic nerve sheath diameter: A randomized crossover trial.

Background: There is considerable evidence that prolonged use of cervical collars potentially cause detrimental effects including increase in optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) among healthy volunteers. Different types of cervical collars immobilize cervical spine variably well and may presumably differently influence the venous compression and hence the intracranial pressure. We therefore aimed to evaluate the influence of cervical spine immobilization with 5 different types of cervical collars on ONSD measured noninvasively by ultrasound on healthy volunteers.

Tuberculosis of the Urogenital Tract in Adults in a Tertiary Referral Center.

The genitourinary system is the main location of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. In Poland, it occupies the third place after tuberculosis of the pleura and lymph nodes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and characteristics of tuberculosis in the urogenital tract in adult patients in a tertiary referral center in the years 2007-2015.

Anorectal malformation as a cause of recurring perineal abscesses - value of anorectal endosonography and magnetic resonance imaging: a case report.

Malformations of the rectum and urinary tract frequently coexist, and the prevalence of urogenital defects in patients with a rectal defect ranges from 20 to 54%. In most patients, anorectal malformations are diagnosed and treated surgically in early childhood. In this report, we present a case of a 52-year-old male with a history of urological operations in infancy due to a congenital urethral malformation and multiple recurrent episodes of perineal abscesses with urinary retention.

Utility of transperineal and anal ultrasonography in the diagnostics of hidradenitis suppurativa and its differentiation from a rectal fistula.

Introduction: The pathogenesis of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is not fully understood. There exist several theories, in which mechanical factors, genetic factors, as well as immunological dysfunction of lymphocytes are suspected. Clinically, this entity is frequently mistaken for anal fistula with consequently wrong treatment.
