The patient with diabetic foot ulceration is undoubtedly one of the major challenges faced by nurses and physicians working in the field of wound treatment. About 15% of diabetic patients experience foot ulceration in the course of their disease. This article reports the adoption of an unconventional treatment, based on gelatin, in a case of a stagnant diabetic foot ulcer, resulting in the successful healing of the wound and the limb being saved.
