Background: Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) that are ten-valent (PCV10) and 13-valent (PCV13) became available in 2010. We evaluated their global impact on invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) incidence in all ages.

Methods: Serotype-specific IPD cases and population denominators were obtained directly from surveillance sites using PCV10 or PCV13 in their national immunisation programmes and with a primary series uptake of at least 50%.

A literature overview of published size-mass relationships for Portugal and Sweden highlights the need for further data within these biogeographic regions.

The primary objective of this study was to address knowledge gaps in the biodiversity of the family Psychodidae in Estonia. Our research aimed to investigate the diversity of endoparasitic helminths in nutria, with a particular focus on assessing the risk posed by helminth species with zoonotic potential.

Silicene, the analog of graphene composed of silicon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice, has garnered significant attention due to its unique properties, positioning it as a promising candidate for various applications in electronic devices, photovoltaics, photocatalysis, and biomedicals. While the chemical synthesis of silicene nanosheets has traditionally involved time-spending and expensive- methods, this study introduces a rapid vacuum/nitrogen cycle assisted (VANS) protocol that dramatically speeds up the production of silicene. The strategic implementation of vacuum/nitrogen cycles provides the efficient removal of the generated hydrogen, boosting the overall reaction kinetics while maintaining inert reaction conditions to prevent oxidation.

Objectives: Propose a methodology to identify COVID-19 associated deaths using healthcare billing records and evaluate its effectiveness by comparing the results with excess mortality data from 2020 to 2022 and confirmed COVID-19 deaths.

Methods: A retrospective quantitative analysis was conducted by merging healthcare billing records with cause of death data. The term "COVID-19 associated death" was defined as any death occurring within a defined timeframe following a confirmed contact with COVID-19.
