Purpose: This review aimed to conduct a meta-analysis of published randomized controlled studies (RCTs) comparing the effectiveness of dexmedetomidine (DEX) combined with ropivacaine versus single ropivacaine in transversus abdominis plane block (TAPB) for postoperative analgesia after laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). The purpose was to investigate whether DEX combined with ropivacaine in TAPB for postoperative analgesia in LC is superior to single ropivacaine administration.
Design: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Purpose: Clinical responses of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) are associated with prognosis in patients with breast cancer. The selection of suitable variables for the prediction of clinical responses remains controversial. Herein, we developed a predictive model based on ultrasound imaging and clinical indices to identify patients most likely to benefit from NACT.

Study Design: A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate anterior plate fixation of unstable atlas fractures using a transoral approach.
Objective: To further investigate the safety and efficacy of this surgical technique, as there is currently a paucity of available data. While most atlas fractures can be managed by external immobilization with favorable results, surgery is usually preferable in highly unstable cases.

Background: Intra-articular calcaneal fractures are more likely to suffer consequences in terms of pain and disability. Many studies have suggested that operative treatment for these fractures may result in better outcomes than nonoperative treatment. The metallic screws and plates are among the most common alternatives to stabilize calcaneal fractures.

Background: The treatment of unstable displaced proximal humeral fractures remains challenging and controversial. Reports about the application of a mini-external fixator in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures are rare. The objective of this retrospective study was to evaluate the efficacy and complications of surgical treatment of proximal humeral fractures by closed reduction and external fixation with application of a mini-external fixator.
