Case Report: Ultrasound-Guided Infraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block for a Case with Posterior Elbow Dislocation.

Background: The interest in regional anesthesia procedures for the management of upper-extremity emergencies has increased. Toward that end, supraclavicular, interscalene, or infraclavicular approaches, with or without ultrasound guidance, are used for brachial plexus nerve blocks. Although many studies have reported on the use of ultrasound-guided supraclavicular and interscalene brachial plexus blocks for upper-extremity dislocations, very few studies have reported on the use of ultrasound-guided infraclavicular brachial plexus blocks.

Efficiency of instant messaging applications in coordination of emergency calls for combat injuries: A pilot study.

Background: Coordination of an emergency response team is an important determinant of prompt treatment for combat injuries in hospitals. The authors hypothesized that instant messaging applications for smartphones could be appropriate tools for notifying emergency response team members. The objective of this study was to investigate the efficiency of a commercial instant messaging application (WhatsApp, Mountain View, CA) as a communication tool for the emergency team in a level-I trauma center.

Ultrasound-Guided Femoral Nerve Blockage in A Patellar Dislocation: An Effective Technique for Emergency Physicians.

Background: Patellar dislocation is an orthopedic emergency and its reduction can be painful. The aim of this case is to show that the ultrasound-guided femoral nerve blockage can be effectively used in the pain management of patellar reduction in the emergency department (ED).

Case Report: A 21-year-old man was admitted to our ED after suffering a fall down a flight of stairs.

A novel model of retinopathy of prematurity in normobaric hyperoxic conditions.

Aim: To examine changes in retinal vasculature after treatment with different oxygen concentrations from common retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) models and to determine a novel and practical ROP model.

Methods: A sample of 14 newborn Sprague-Dawley rats was used. The study group (n=7) was exposed to 95% oxygen for 4h per day followed by normoxic laboratory conditions for 20h.

Thirteen of these structural proteins are encoded by mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), and the others by nuclear DNA (nDNA). Apparent diffusion coefficient value in invasive ductal carcinoma at 3.0 Tesla: is it correlated with prognostic factors?

Objective: To investigate the correlation between apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values and prognostic factors in patients with invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC).

Methods: 48 lesions belonging to 47 patients with histopathologically proven IDC were examined using conventional MR and diffusion-weighted imaging at a 3.0-T system.

Background: Scrotal blunt trauma may result in injuries, such as testicular rupture, dislocation, torsion, hematoma, spermatic cord injury or contusion, and epididymal, scrotal, and urethral injuries. Ultrasonography (US) has a crucial role in the evaluation of those kinds of pathologies. Early diagnosis of testicular rupture may lead to the salvaging of the testicle by prompt surgical exploration within 72 h.

Urinary and sexual dysfunction rates and risk factors following rectal cancer surgery.

Objective: The aim of this study was to express the effects of demographic characteristics, the type of the surgery, tumour characteristics and adjuvant therapy on urinary and sexual dysfunctions.

Materials And Method: Pre-operational urinary and sexual dysfunctions of the patients were evaluated by using the surveys prepared according to International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) in men and Index of Female Sexual Function (IFSF) in women.

Findings: A total of 56 patients were included in the study; 20 of them were women and 36 of them were men.

Complete currarino syndrome recognized in adulthood.

Currarino syndrome is a hereditary pathology that is characterized by sacrococcygeal bone defect, presacral mass, and anorectal malformation. Sacrococcygeal bone defect is almost always a part of the syndrome. The complete form of this entity displays all three abnormalities and is very uncommon.
