Background: This study aimed to evaluate the dosimetric influence of 6-dimensional (6D) interfractional setup error in tongue cancer treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) using daily kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography (kV-CBCT).

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 20 tongue cancer patients treated with IMRT (10), VMAT (10), and daily kV-CBCT image guidance. Interfraction 6D setup errors along the lateral, longitudinal, vertical, pitch, roll, and yaw axes were evaluated for 600 CBCTs.

Background: Current treatment paradigms for anterior shoulder instability are based on radiologic measurements of glenohumeral bone defects, and mathematical calculation of the glenoid track (GT) is used to classify lesions into on-track and off-track morphology. However, radiologic measurements have shown high variability, and GT widths under dynamic conditions have been reported to be significantly smaller than those under static radiologic conditions. The purpose of this study was to assess the reliability, reproducibility, and diagnostic validity of dynamic arthroscopic standardized tracking (DAST) in comparison to the gold-standard radiologic track measurement method for the identification of on- and off-track bony lesions in patients with anteroinferior shoulder instability.

We previously demonstrated that 50% of children with obesity from consanguineous families from Pakistan carry pathogenic variants in known monogenic obesity genes. Here, we have discovered a novel monogenetic recessive form of severe childhood obesity using an in-house computational staged approach. The analysis included whole-exome sequencing data of 366 children with severe obesity, 1,000 individuals of the Pakistan Risk of Myocardial Infarction Study (PROMIS) study, and 200,000 participants of the UK Biobank to prioritize genes harboring rare homozygous variants with putative effect on human obesity.

This report summarizes the governance, participating sites, patient characteristics and outcomes, as well as knowledge translation activities during first year of operation of ICCPR's registry, namely the International Cardiac Rehab Registry.

The accuracy and uncertainty of the automated image registration (AIR) algorithm in a six-dimensional (6D) kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography (kV-CBCT) image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) system were evaluated with a concurrent analysis of machine performance check (MPC). The MPC was performed before (MPCpre) and after (MPCpost) each accuracy and intrinsic uncertainty measurement. The accuracy was evaluated for 25 sets of the known shifts applied to the Catphan-504 phantom through a 6D robotic couch in the head, thorax, and pelvis CBCT acquisition modes.

Patient safety, improved quality of care, and better patient satisfaction and functional outcomes are currently the topmost priorities in regional anaesthesia (RA) and all advancements in RA move in this direction. Ultrasonography-guided central neuraxial and peripheral nerve blocks, intracluster and intratruncal injections, fascial plane blocks, diaphragm-sparing blocks, use of continuous nerve block techniques, and continuous local anaesthetic wound infiltration catheters are now topics of popular clinical interest. The safety and efficacy of nerve blocks can be improved with the help of injection pressure monitoring and the incorporation of advanced technology in the ultrasound machine and needles.
