Background: Sepsis is a global health problem with high morbidity and mortality. Low- and middle-income countries have a higher incidence and poorer outcome with sepsis. Large epidemiological studies in sepsis using Sepsis-3 criteria, addressing the process of care and deriving predictors of mortality are scarce in India.

Recent decades have witnessed transformative advances in radiation physics and computer technology, revolutionizing the precision of radiation therapy. The adoption of intricate treatment techniques such as three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiotherapy, volumetric-modulated arc therapy, and image-guided radiotherapy necessitates robust quality assurance (QA) programs. This study introduces the SunCHECK™ Machine (SCM), a web-based QA platform, presenting early results from its integration into a comprehensive QA program.

A Randomized, Open-labelled, Interventional Study to Evaluate the Incidence of Infection with or Without Use of Prophylactic Antibiotics in Patients of Episiotomy in a Normal Vaginal Delivery.

Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the incidence of infection in patients of episiotomy with or without the use of prophylactic antibiotics and to compare other morbidities associated with episiotomy and the role of antibiotics in their prevention and treatment.

Design: This open-labelled, randomized, interventional study was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at BYL Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, from October 2014 to October 2015. Three hundred women subjected to episiotomy during normal vaginal delivery in the labour ward from BYL Nair Charitable Hospital fulfilling specific criteria were enrolled in this study and randomly divided into two study groups A and B.
