Although MRI is the primary investigative tool for neurological imaging, FDG PET may show additional areas of involvement in the brain in the form of regional hypometabolism or hypermetabolism, secondary to synaptic dysfunction and electrical or glial activation. We present a case series of 4 patients who had neurological symptoms attributable to COVID-19 infection with abnormalities in the brain FDG PET scan.
