Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) individuals exhibit increased adipogenesis and decreased osteogenesis. We investigated the potential of adipose tissue-derived MSCs (ADMSCs) secretome obtained from healthy individuals in restoring the tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) mediated imbalance in the adipo/osteogenic differentiation in the dental pulp-derived MSCs obtained from T2DM individuals (dDPMSCs).

Methods: dDPMSCs were differentiated into adipocytes and osteocytes using a standard cocktail in the presence of (a) induction cocktail, (b) induction cocktail + TNF-α, and (c) induction cocktail+ TNF-α + ADMSCs-secretome (50%) for 15 and 21 days resp.

This study delves into the influence of incorporating alumina (AlO) nanoparticles with waste cooking oil (WCO) biofuels in a gasoline engine that employs premixed fuel. During the suction phase, gasoline blends with atmospheric air homogeneously at the location of the inlet manifold. The biodiesel, enhanced with AlO nanoparticles and derived from WCO, is subsequently directly infused into the combustion chamber at 23° before the top dead center.

Magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles were green synthesized using mahua (Madhuca longifolia) flower extracts by solvent evaporation and characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). The drug loading of sumatriptan succinate (SS), an anti-migraine drug, was optimized using MINITAB's response surface methodology (RSM) Box Behnken model (BBD) model. The investigation of drug adsorption and release kinetics was further conducted using the optimized set obtained through RSM.

Since soft computing has gained a lot of attention in hydrological studies, this study focuses on predicting aeration efficiency () using circular plunging jets employing soft computing techniques such as reduced error pruning tree (REPTree), random forest (RF), and M5P. The study undertaken required the development and validation of models, which were achieved using 63 experimental data values with input variables, such as angle of inclination of tilt channel (α), number of plunging jets (), discharge of each jet (), hydraulic radius of each jet (HR), and Froude number (Fr. No), to evaluate the aeration efficiency (), which served as the output variable.

Background: The Indian traditional medicinal system, Ayurveda, describes several lifestyle practices, processes and medicines as an intervention to treat asthma. Rasayana therapy is one of them and although these treatment modules show improvement in bronchial asthma, their mechanism of action, particularly the effect on DNA methylation, is largely understudied.

Objectives: Our study aimed at identifying the contribution of DNA methylation changes in modulating bronchial asthma phenotype upon Ayurveda intervention.

Interdisciplinary Research, Central Research Facility, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital, and Research Center, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune, India.

Background: Due to many uses of cell culture in cell biology, biotechnology, and medical research, this technique has evolved into a widely used and accepted methodology. The isolation of primary cells from primary cancer tissue is a crucial step in cell culture technology since it offers a trustworthy source for studying the biology, morphology, and molecular evaluation of cancer cells, just like in the oral cavity tissue of patients. Therefore, the technique used for the isolation, culture, and evaluation of these cells is crucial.

Wear and Friction Analysis of Brake Pad Material Using Natural Hemp Fibers.

Polymers (Basel)

December 2022

Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Future University in Egypt, New Cairo 11835, Egypt.

Non-exhaust brake dust and pollution arising from metal, semi-metal, and ceramic brake pads have made recent research consider their replacement by potential natural fibers such as hemp, flax, sisal, etc. These natural fibers are lightweight, biodegradable, and cheap. This paper discusses the wear and friction analysis of hemp fiber reinforced polymer brake pad material.

Objectives: Several studies suggest that Glycyrrhiza glabra (GG) extract could be a useful supplemental source for various cancer treatments. However, very few studies on oral cancer (OC) have been conducted. The present study was aimed at exploring the bioactive compounds (bioactives) along with the mode of action of GG against OC using network pharmacology.

Mesothelioma is a dangerous, violent cancer, which forms a protecting layer around inner tissues such as the lungs, stomach, and heart. We investigate numerous AI methodologies and consider the exact DM conclusion outcomes in this study, which focuses on DM determination. K-nearest neighborhood, linear-discriminant analysis, Naive Bayes, decision-tree, random forest, support vector machine, and logistic regression analyses have been used in clinical decision support systems in the detection of mesothelioma.

Identification and characterization of a hydrophobin Vmh3 from Pleurotus ostreatus.

Protein Expr Purif

August 2022

Department of Biotechnology, Sinhgad College of Engineering and Department of Technology, Affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, 411041, India. Electronic address:

Hydrophobins (HPs) are relatively small surface-active proteins of fungal origin. Being an industrially important protein, isolation of new molecules from GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) strains like mushrooms is the need of the time. In the present work, hydrophobin Vmh3-1 is isolated, purified, and identified from a culture broth and vegetative mycelia of Pleurotus ostreatus grown in a Potato dextrose broth (PDB) in static culture conditions.

The translation of Traditional Medicines (TMs) such as Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine into clinical practice remains obstructed due to lack of scientific evidence by means of safety, quality, standardization, clinical efficacy, and mode of action. These limitations can be attributed to the lack of synonymous invitro models which reflect invivo features. Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) have emerged as an efficient cell source for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.

Department of Biotechnology, Sinhgad College of Engineering, Affiliated to SPPU, Pune, 411041, India. Electronic address:

Recent reports on COVID-19 suggest that, the susceptibility to COVID-19 infection and its progression have a genetic predisposition. Majorly associated genetic variants are found in human leukocyte antigen (HLA), angiotensin convertase enzyme (ACE; rs1799752: ACE2; rs73635825, and transmembrane protease serine 2 (; rs12329760 genes. Identifying highly prone population having these variants is imperative for determining COVID-19 therapeutic strategies.

Graphene and graphene-based hybrid materials have emerged as an outstanding supercapacitor electrode material primarily because of their excellent surface area, high electrical conductivity, and improved thermal, mechanical, electrochemical cycling stabilities. Graphene alone exhibits electric double layer capacitance (EDLC) with low energy density and high power density. The use of aerogels in a supercapacitor is a pragmatic approach due to its extraordinary properties like ultra-lightweight, high porosity and specific surface area.
