Guidelines recommend risk stratification of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) patients to guide management. There are currently several risk stratification scores available, which have largely been validated in various pulmonary hypertension registries in the West but not in Asia. We aim to study the performance of these different risk scores in PAH patients from a multi-ethnic Asian population.

This scoping review collates evidence for sex biases in the receipt of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BCPR) among patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients globally. The MEDLINE, PsycINFO, CENTRAL, and Embase databases were screened for relevant literature, dated from inception to March 9, 2022. Studies evaluating the association between BCPR and sex/gender in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, except for pediatric populations and cardiac arrest cases with traumatic cause, were included.

Immunoglobulin replacement is one approach to reduce infection risk in these patients. However, few real-world data exist on its use in patients with myeloma.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed of paediatric RIRS cases at nine centres worldwide over a 6-year period. Patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 had a single stone <15 mm.
Background And Aim: The model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) was updated to MELDNa and recently to MELD3.0 to predict survival of cirrhotic patients. We validated the prognostic performance of MELD3.

In the ventral brainstem, this can manifest as a unique, linear, non-enhancing T2-hyperintense signal.

SBML with virtual coaching (VC) has the potential to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of endoscopy training and expand access to trainees from around the world. We share our observations conducting an EGD training course using SBML with VC.

Mucormycosis is a fungal infection caused by opportunistic fungi of the phylum Glomeromycota, subphylum Mucormycotina. In developed countries, it affects patients with haematological malignancies undergoing chemotherapy and those who have received allogenic stem cell transplants, while in developing countries it is seen in those with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Herein, we report a case of cutaneous mucormycosis in a 67yo Chinese gentleman with background of angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma (AITL) on chemotherapy.

X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is a rare, inherited, multisystem disorder characterized by hypophosphatemia that occurs secondary to renal phosphate wasting. Mutations in PHEX gene (located at Xp22.1) in XLH alter bone mineral metabolism, resulting in diverse skeletal, dental, and other extraskeletal abnormalities that become evident in early childhood and persist into adolescence and adult life.

Whether gender is an independent factor for HCC survival is debatable. We studied the influence of gender on the clinical characteristics of HCC and on survival.

This paper explains the necessary data preprocessing steps, reviews the main methods for automated labelling and compares their performance. There are four main methods of automated labelling, namely: (1) rules-based text-matching algorithms, (2) conventional machine learning models, (3) neural network models and (4) Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) models.

Background: Little is known about stage 1 and 2 pressure injuries that are health care-acquired. We report incidence rates of health care-acquired stage 1 and stage 2 pressure injuries, and, estimate the excess length of stay using four competing analytic methods. We discuss the merits of the different approaches.

Deregulation of MYC is among the most frequent oncogenic drivers in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Unfortunately, the clinical success of MYC-targeted therapies is limited. Synthetic lethality offers an alternative therapeutic strategy by leveraging on vulnerabilities in tumors with MYC deregulation.

Atypical femur fractures (AFFs) are rare complications of anti-resorptive therapy. Devastating to the affected individual, they pose a public health concern because of reduced uptake of an effective treatment for osteoporosis due to patient concern. The risk of AFF is increased sixfold to sevenfold in patients of Asian ethnicity compared with Europeans.

Despite improvements in pre-hospital response and post-resuscitation care, outcomes remain grim. Thus, we aim to evaluate the predictors of survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) and describe autopsy findings of those with the uncertain cause of death (COD).

However, most studies on the utility and efficacy of ESG are derived from the Western population. It is unknown if ESG elicits similar results in Asians with different fat distribution, sociocultural customs, and dietary practices.

This study evaluated the prognostic utility of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in ischemic heart failure. This study retrospectively analyzed subjects with ischemic heart failure and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤35%, who underwent CMR at a single center in 2004-2014 before undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) or optimal medical therapy (OMT).

Objectives: Obstructive sleep apnoea is characterized by repetitive obstruction of the upper airway during sleep. These repeated oxygen desaturations increase cardiovascular and cerebrovascular morbidity and mortality significantly. Upper airway surgery is an option for patients who fail continuous positive airway pressure therapy.
