Gastroscopy is the reference standard for the diagnosis of gastric cancer, but it is operator-dependent and associated with missed gastric cancer. The proliferation of gastroscopic examinations, increasingly for the screening and detection of subtle premalignant lesions, has motivated scrutiny of quality in gastroscopy. The concept of a high-quality endoscopic examination for the detection of superficial gastric neoplasia has been defined by expert guidelines to improve mucosal visualization, engender a systematic examination process and detect superficial neoplasia.

Management of invasive mould infections (IMIs) is challenging in Asia, as awareness among medical practitioners can be low and resources are limited. Timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment of IMIs can mitigate the impact on morbidity and mortality, but diagnostic methods, as well as access to preferred antifungal medications, may vary throughout the region. Knowledge of local epidemiology and accurate diagnosis and identification of causal pathogens would facilitate optimal treatment but data in Asia are lacking.

Background: Sudden cardiac arrest with or without sudden cardiac death (SCD) represents a heterogeneous spectrum of underlying etiology but is often a catastrophic event. Despite improvements in pre-hospital response and post-resuscitation care, outcomes remain grim. Thus, we aim to evaluate the predictors of survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) and describe autopsy findings of those with the uncertain cause of death (COD).
