Chemiluminescence (CL) imaging has emerged as a powerful approach to molecular imaging that allows exceptional sensitivity with virtually no background interference because of its unique capacity to emit photons without an external excitation source. Despite its high potential, the application of this nascent technique faces challenges because the current chemiluminescent agents have limited reactive sites, require complex synthesis, are insufficiently bright, and lack near-infrared emission. Herein, a series of HClO-activated chemiluminescent probes that exhibit robust near-infrared emission are studied.

Here this challenge is tackled using in situ cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryoTEM) in combination with electron tomography (cryoET), which allows 3D imaging of the process with <1 nm resolution. By monitoring the film formation process of poly(ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) (EMAA) ionomer dispersion, onion-like nano-aggregates are captured.

Herein, we document a diboron-enabled [5,5]-sigmatropic rearrangement for practical synthesis of BINAM derivatives. Mechanistically, a concerted activation of azonaphthalenes by diboron creates a unique ten-membered transition state, which subsequently triggers a [5,5]-sigmatropic rearrangement.

Latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1) plays a crucial role in Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)'s ability to establish latency and is involved in developing and progressing EBV-associated cancers. Additionally, EBV-infected cells affect the immune responses, making it challenging for the immune system to eliminate them. Due to the aforementioned reasons, it is crucial to understand the structural features of LMP1, which are essential for the development of novel cancer therapies that target its signaling pathways.

The main challenge of metal-assisted immunotherapy lies in the fact that the free metals as ion forms are easily cleared during circulation, and even cause systemic metal toxicity due to the off-target effects. With the rapid development of nanomedicine, metal-based smart nanosystems (MSNs) with unique controllable structure become one of the most promising delivery carriers to solve the issue, owing to their various endogenous/external stimuli-responsiveness to release free metal ions for metalloimmunotherapy.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic non-communicable disease with the ability to cause serious microvascular and macrovascular complications throughout the body, including in the eye. Diabetic retinopathy (DR), present in one-third of patients with diabetes, is a vision-threatening complication caused by uncontrolled diabetes, which greatly affects the retinal blood vessels and the light-sensitive inner retina, eventually leading to blindness. Several epidemiological studies elucidate that DR can vary by age of onset, duration, types of diabetes, and ethnicity.

Unlabelled: Data-driven strategies have been widely used to distinguish experimental effects on single-trial EEG signals. However, how latency variability, such as within-condition jitter or latency shifts between conditions, affects the performance of EEG classifiers has not been well investigated. Without explicitly considering and disentangling such attributes of single trials, neural network-based classifiers have limitations in measuring their contributions.

Although trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is not typically considered a Hofmeister reagent, it has been demonstrated to modulate biocoacervation. We show that TFA can be employed to probe specific interactions in coacervating bioinspired peptide phenylalanine (Phe) F-labeled at a single site, altering its liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) behavior. Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy revealed two dynamically distinct binding modes of TFA with Phe, resulting in a structured, dipolar-ordered complex and a more dynamic complex, highlighting the proximity between TFA and Phe.
