Objectives: A third paediatric report has been generated from the European Registry for Patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support (EUROMACS). The purpose of EUROMACS, which is operated by the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, is to gather data related to durable mechanical circulatory support for scientific purposes and to publish reports with respect to the course of mechanical circulatory support therapy. Research published especially in the last decade indicates the influence of anxiety on the human decision-making process. This study analyzes the anxiety among individuals who decided to undergo vaccinations for COVID-19. The study assesses that the level of education, especially medical education, age, and gender, had an influence on the level of anxiety in terms of vaccination situations.

Lung Transplant as a Treatment for Patients with End-Stage Respiratory Failure Due to COVID-19.

Background: COVID-19 may lead to development of irreversible acute respiratory distress syndrome. Some patients sustain severe respiratory failure after infection subsides. They may require lung transplant as a last resort treatment.

Cognitive Functions after Carotid Artery Stenting-1-Year Follow-Up Study.

Background: The revascularization of carotid arteries minimizes the risk of future cerebral stroke and usually improves cognitive functions. Influence of Fluid Therapy on Kidney Function in the Early Postoperative Period After Lung Transplantation.

Background: Perioperative fluid therapy among patients undergoing lung transplantation (LT) has a significant clinical importance, including developing of acute kidney injury (AKI). The presence of AKI in the early postoperative period is associated with increased mortality in lung transplant recipients. Analysis includes the relationship between the volume of infused fluids, the balances of crystalloids and colloids during LT procedure and in the first 24 hours and the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) values in the following days of the postoperative period.
