Real-time prediction about the severity of noncommunicable diseases like cancers is a boon for early diagnosis and timely cure. Optical techniques due to their minimally invasive nature provide better alternatives in this context than the conventional techniques. The present study talks about a standalone, field portable smartphone-based device which can classify different grades of cervical cancer on the basis of the spectral differences captured in their intrinsic fluorescence spectra with the help of AI/ML technique.

Background And Aim: With the growth of the world's economy and industrialization, lead (Pb) contamination in the environment has become a major issue on a global scale. Lead is typically linked to unfavorable pregnancy outcomes such as stillbirth, low birth weight preterm, and spontaneous abortion. In this study, we evaluated the blood lead levels of pregnant women and their birth outcomes attending an Indian tertiary care teaching hospital, those who were not exposed to any lead-associated industry or shops.

In order to comply with the stringent discharge guidelines issued by governmental organizations to protect the ecosystem, the substantial amounts of effluent and sturdy wastes produced by the beer brewing process need to be discarded or handled in the most affordable and secure manner. Huge quantities of waste material released with each brew bestow a significant opportunity for the brewing sector to move towards sustainability. The concept of circular economy and the development of technological advancements in brewery waste processing have spurred interest to valorize brewery waste for implementation in various sectors of medical and food science, industrial science, and many more intriguing fields.

Introduction: Traumatic mandibular fractures are the most common fractures of the facial region and are associated with loss of neurosensation in the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN). The present study aimed to compare IAN recovery after traumatic mandibular fractures between the open and closed reduction methods.
Materials And Methods: The study included 90 patients with traumatic mandibular fractures of the body, angle, and symphysis, divided into two groups of 45 patients: group 1 was treated with closed reduction and fixation with rich arch-bar fixation under local anesthesia, and group 2 was treated with open reduction and rigid internal fixation with 2-mm titanium mini plates and monocortical screws (6 mm), and the plate was fixed to the fractured bony fragments.

In the realm of composite photocatalysts, the fusion of the co-catalyst effect with interfacial engineering is recognized as a potent strategy for facilitating the segregation and migration of photo-induced charge carriers. Herein, an innovative mediator-based Z-scheme hybrid, MIS@1T/2H-MoS, has been well designed by pairing MIS with 1T/2H-MoS a facile hydrothermal strategy as a competent photocatalyst for HO and H generation. The co-catalyst, metallic 1T-phase bridging between semiconducting 2H-MoS and MIS, serves as a solid state electron mediator in the heterostructure.

Background: Targeted therapies against programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have revolutionized the management in recent years. There is paucity of data on the significance of PD-L1 expression in NSCLC from India. We aimed to study the prevalence of PD-L1 expression and its relation with different clinico-pathological parameters in advanced NSCLC from a tertiary care center in Eastern India.

Luliconazole-loaded microemulgels containing different permeation enhancers were formulated for transungual drug delivery for the management of onychomycosis, onychomycosis, which affects nails. The physicochemical properties like droplet size, zeta potential, pH, viscosity, spreadability, extrudability, oil binding capacity, drug content, and microscopic study were evaluated. The Pseudo-ternary phase diagram was constructed for the formulation of microemulsions (MEs) by keeping the K ratio constant at 3:1 and characterized for clarity, mean droplet size, zeta potential, viscosity, pH, transmittance, refractive index, and stability.
