To overcome the barriers often met by traditional ophthalmic formulations, polymeric films can be utilized as an alternative to enhance drug retention duration while managing medication release. In the current investigation, polymeric films made of poly (vinyl) alcohol (PVA) and chitosan (CS) loaded with Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride (M-HCl) and plasticized with Glutaraldehyde were formulated as potential ophthalmic delivery for the treatment of conjunctivitis. The thickness, surface pH, opacity, folding endurance, and % hemolysis were measured, followed by the transparency, microscopy, electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, swelling index, and invitro drug release studies.

This paper proposes an advanced Load Frequency Control (LFC) strategy for two-area hydro-wind power systems, using a hybrid Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network combined with a Genetic Algorithm-optimized PID (GA-PID) controller. Traditional PID controllers, while extensively used, often face limitations in handling the nonlinearities and uncertainties inherent in interconnected power systems, leading to slower settling time and higher overshoot during load disturbances. The LSTM + GA-PID controller mitigates these issues by utilizing LSTM's capacity to learn from historical data by using gradient descent to forecast the future disturbances, while the GA optimizes the PID parameters in real time, ensuring dynamic adaptability and improved control precision.

Tuberculosis is a highly infectious disease and it is a global threat in particular affecting people from developing countries. It is thought that nearly one-third of the global population lives with this causative bacterium in its dominant form. The spread of HIV and the development of resistance to both multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) and extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) aggravates the spread of the disease and needs novel drugs which combat this disease effectively.

In the relentless pursuit of unraveling the intricate pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD), amyloid β (Aβ) proteins emerge as focal points due to their pivotal role in disease progression. The pathological hallmark of AD involves the aberrant aggregation of Aβ peptides into amyloid fibrils, precipitating a cascade of neurodegenerative events culminating in cognitive decline and neuronal loss. This study adopts a computational framework to investigate the potential therapeutic efficacy of novel biosurfactants (BS) in mitigating Aβ fibril formation.

A series of ten topiramate-phenolic acid conjugates (T1-T10) were synthesized, and evaluated for their pancreatic lipase inhibitory and antioxidant potentials. The design of the compounds reflected the structural attributes extracted from robust QSAR models developed for predicting the pancreatic lipase inhibition potency. Conjugate T4 competitively inhibited pancreatic lipase with IC value of 8.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs), senile plaques from Aβ deposits, neuronal inflammation, oxidative stress, and impaired neuronal transmission involving acetylcholine and glutamate. Diabetes patients are at a higher risk of developing AD-like pathology due to shared pathological and molecular mechanisms, including insulin resistance, oxidative stress, formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), and overactive immune systems. Current treatments of AD typically address only one aspect of the disease, rather than treating it as a multifactorial process.
