Acceleration of ion phase-space holes due to interactions with ion solitons in a wave-guided plasma.

Ion phase-space holes are solitary kinetic structures found in the ion phase-space of collision-less plasmas, and are nonlinear solutions to the Vlasov-Poisson equations, identified as Bernstein-Greene-Kruskal (BGK) modes. In this study, interactions between an ion phase-space hole and a travelling ion KdV soliton is presented. This interaction, which is simulated in a fully ionised highly magnetised plasma within a cylindrical wave-guide, exhibits acceleration and deacceleration of the ion hole, depending on its mode of collision with the travelling ion soliton.

Background: During the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India implemented a nationwide lockdown, sealing borders across states and districts. The northeastern region of India, surrounded by three international borders and connected to mainland India by a narrow passage, faced particular isolation. Bioplastic packaging in circular economy: A systems-based policy approach for multi-sectoral challenges.

Bioplastics have long been publicized as a sustainable plastic packaging alternative; however, their widespread industrialization is still embryonic due to complex challenges spanning multiple sectors. This review critically analyses the bioplastic lifecycle and provides a holistic evaluation of both the opportunities and potential trade-offs along their value chain. Their lifecycle is divided into three sectors: 1) resources, extraction, and manufacturing, 2) product consumption which discusses availability, consumer perception, and marketing strategies, and 3) end-of-life (EoL) management which includes segregation, recycling, and disposal.

Co-pyrolysis of plastic waste and eucalyptus waste wood for fuel pellets production: A study of fuel, mechanical, and combustion characteristics under varying binder proportion.

The study explores the effect of varying molasses proportions as a binder on the characteristics of densified char obtained through the slow co-pyrolysis of plastic waste and Eucalyptus wood waste (Waste low-density polyethylene - Eucalyptus wood (WLDPE-EW) and Waste Polystyrene - Eucalyptus wood (WPS-EW)). Pyrolysis was conducted at 500 °C with a residence time of 120 min, employing plastic to wood waste ratios of 1:2 and 1:3 (w/w). The focus was on how varying the proportion of molasses (10-30 %), influences the physical and combustion properties of the resulting biofuel pellets.

Tuning sensing efficacy of anthraimidazoledione-based charge transfer dyes: nitro group positioning impact.

Anthraimidazoledione-based optical sensors have been designed by varying the position of the nitro functional group. All three positional isomers showed highly colored, photostable optical signals owing to intramolecular charge transfer interactions. Despite having the same anion-binding site (imidazole unit), the selectivity and sensitivity of the compounds depend on the positioning of the nitro group.

Temperature-induced disruptive growth rate behavior due to streaming instability in semiconductor quantum plasma with nanoparticles.

The nature of the growth rate due to streaming instability in a semiconductor quantum plasma implanted with nanoparticles has been analyzed using the quantum hydrodynamic model. In this study, the intriguing effect of temperature, beam electron speed, and electron-hole density on growth rate and frequency is investigated. The results show that the growth rate demonstrates a nonlinear behavior, strongly linked to the boron implantation, beam electron streaming speed and quantum correction factor.

Nepali Sign Language (NSL) is used by the Nepali-speaking community in Nepal and in Indian states such as Sikkim, the hilly region of North Bengal, some parts of Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, and Assam. It consists of the International Manual Alphabet (A-Z), Nepali consonants, vowels, conjunct letters, and numbers represented in the form of one-handed fingerspelling or Nepali manual alphabet. Extremal topological indices of some nanostructures.

In this work, general formulas of degree-based and neighborhood degree sum-based topological indices for a 2D lattice of H-Naphtalenic nanotubes and pent-heptagonal nanosheets are determined. As an example, six neighborhood degree sum-based topological indices are computed using the obtained formula. Furthermore, the extremal cases of these nanostructures with a fixed number of blocks are characterized for a given degree-based or neighborhood degree sum-based topological index.

This study aimed to test the construct validity and reliability of the Kannada-translated Revised Childbirth Experience Questionnaire.

Exploring the pH-Responsive Interaction of β-Blocker Drug Propranolol with Biomimetic Micellar Media: Fluorescence and Electronic Absorption Studies.

Interaction of neutral and charged lipophilic beta-blocker drug, propranolol (PPL) with biomimicking nanocavities formed by micelles bearing same and opposite charges namely, cationic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), a surface-active ionic liquid 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (HDMIC) and anionic sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) have been investigated using fluorescence and absorption spectroscopic techniques. Binding of PPL to SDS at pH < pKa is characterised by biphasic interactions with decrease in fluorescence intensity at lower concentrations and subsequent increase post micellization. All the surfactants show significant interactions with the neutral drug molecule at pH > pKa, which is evident from the strongest binding constant ( ) values at pH 10.

Persistence and remote sensing of agri-food wastes in the environment: Current state and perspectives.

Food demand is expected to increase globally by 60-110% from 2005 to 2050 due to diet shifts and population growth. This growth in food demand leads to the generation of enormous agri-food wastes (AFWs), which could be classified into pre-consumption and post-consumption. The AFW represents economic losses for all stakeholders along food supply chains, including consumers.

Due to the ubiquitous nature of microplastic (MP), knowledge of its fate and migration in subsurface environments like soil becomes extremely important to understand underlying ecological risk. The fate and migration of MP in subterranean settings like sand are governed by the retention/transport properties influenced by the interaction of sand and MPs. In this study, sand column experiments under simulated rainfall conditions were conducted for 180 days to assess the vertical migration of mixed MPs consisting of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
