Precision and personalized medicine, the process by which patient management is tailored to individual circumstances, are now terms that are familiar to cardiologists, despite it still being an emerging field. Although precision medicine relies most often on the underlying biology and pathophysiology of a patient's condition, personalized medicine relies on digital biomarkers generated through algorithms. Given the complexity of the underlying data, these digital biomarkers are most often generated through machine-learning algorithms.

Aim: To co-create parental presence practice recommendations across Canadian NICUs during pandemics caused by respiratory pathogens such as COVID-19.
Methods: Recommendations were developed through evidence, context, Delphi and Values and Preferences methods. For Delphi 1 and 2, participants rated 50 items and 20 items respectively on a scale from 1 (very low importance) to 5 (very high).

Background: Clinical trial recruitment for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has become more challenging over time. We aimed to develop recommendations for broadening IBD clinical trial eligibility to improve the inclusion of a more representative patient population in a more efficient timeline.
Methods: We applied the RAND/UCLA Appropriateness Method focused on broadening IBD clinical trial eligibility.

Congenital diarrheas and enteropathies (CODE) are a group of rare, heterogenous, monogenic disorders that lead to chronic diarrhea in infancy. Definitive treatment is rarely available, and supportive treatment is the mainstay. Nutritional management in the form of either specialized formulas, restrictive diet, or parenteral nutrition support in CODE with poor enteral tolerance is the cornerstone of CODE treatment and long-term growth.

We are building the world's first Virtual Child-a computer model of normal and cancerous human development at the level of each individual cell. The Virtual Child will "develop cancer" that we will subject to unlimited virtual clinical trials that pinpoint, predict, and prioritize potential new treatments, bringing forward the day when no child dies of cancer, giving each one the opportunity to lead a full and healthy life.

Purpose: We present the final analyses of tumor dynamics and their prognostic significance during a 6-week course of concurrent chemoradiotherapy for glioblastoma in the Glioblastoma Longitudinal Imaging Observational study.
Methods And Materials: This is a prospective serial magnetic resonance imaging study in 129 patients with glioblastoma who had magnetic resonance imaging obtained at radiation therapy (RT) planning (F0), fraction 10 (F10), fraction 20 (F20), and 1-month post-RT. Tumor dynamics assessed included gross tumor volume relative to F0 (V) and tumor migration distance (d).

Background: Accurate, reliable, and responsive disease activity indices are important to streamline drug approval and treatment modalities for pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (pIBD). We aimed to identify all scoring indices used in pIBD randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and to evaluate their operating properties.
Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, and CENTRAL were searched on December 6, 2022, to identify studies evaluating clinical, endoscopic, imaging, or patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in pIBD including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC).

Objective: Antimicrobial stewardship (AS) education initiatives for multidisciplinary teams are most successful when addressing psychosocial factors driving antimicrobial prescribing (AP) and when they address the needs of the team to allow for a tailored approach to their education.
Design: We conducted a mixed-methods embedded study as a needs assessment, involving quantitative analysis of AS concerns observed by pharmacists through an audit while attending clinical team rounds, as well as qualitative semi-structured interviews based on the Theoretical Domain Framework (TDF) to identify psychosocial barriers and facilitators for antimicrobial prescribing for an inpatient general pediatric service. We analyzed the data using deductive and inductive methods by mapping the TDF to a model for social determinants of antimicrobial prescribing (SDAP) in pediatric inpatient health care teams.

Background: Outcomes after ileocolonic resection in Crohn's disease [CD] are heterogeneous, and a clear definition of postoperative recurrence remains to be determined. Our Endpoints Working Group of the International Organization for the study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease [IOIBD] aimed to standardise postoperative outcomes, to discuss which endpoints should be used for postoperative clinical trials, and to define those which could be used in trials or registries.
Methods: Based on a systematic review of the literature, recommendations and statements were drafted and sent to all IOIBD members for a first round of voting.

Pediatric chronic pain is a complex experience that is often challenging to describe and measure. Multidimensional tools that evaluate the biopsychosocial impact of chronic pain in pediatric patients can help clinicians to prioritize and tailor interdisciplinary pain care; yet, the psychometric value and clinical utility of such tools has not yet been systematically studied in the literature. The purpose of this review was to identify multidimensional biopsychosocial tools used in pediatric chronic pain, synthesize their reliability and validity evidence, and draw on this evidence to describe the relationships between chronic pain and biopsychosocial domains.

Background: Sucrose has been examined for calming and pain-relieving effects in neonates for invasive procedures such as heel lance.
Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of sucrose for relieving pain from heel lance in neonates in terms of immediate and long-term outcomes SEARCH METHODS: We searched (February 2022): CENTRAL, MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Web of Science, and three trial registries.
Selection Criteria: We included randomised controlled trials where term and/or preterm neonates received sucrose for heel lances.
