Yak (), a special breed of cattle on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, has low fertility due to nutritional deficiency, especially the trace elements. The steroid hormones estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) synthesized by yak follicular granulosa cells (BGCs) are involved in the entire reproductive process. In the present study, we investigated the effects of trace elements and vitamins on yak follicular GCs, including the cellular activity, the synthesis of E2 and P4, and the expression of genes related to steroid hormone synthesis.

Terahertz spectroscopy is an emerging rapid detection method that can be used to detect and analyze food quality issues. However, models developed based on various spectral characteristics of terahertz have shown different performances in food identification. Therefore, we preliminarily analyzed the effect of terahertz spectral characteristics on the identification and quantification of collagen powder adulterated with food powders (plant protein powder, corn starch, wheat flour) with the use of random forest (RF), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and partial least squares regression (PLSR), and determined the spectral characteristics suitable for identification and quantitative analysis.

Sunflower is an important crop, and the vitality and moisture content of sunflower seeds have an important influence on the sunflower's planting and yield. By employing hyperspectral technology, the spectral characteristics of sunflower seeds within the wavelength range of 384-1034 nm were carefully analyzed with the aim of achieving effective prediction of seed vitality and moisture content. Firstly, the original hyperspectral data were subjected to preprocessing techniques such as Savitzky-Golay smoothing, standard normal variable correction (SNV), and multiplicative scatter correction (MSC) to effectively reduce noise interference, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data.

Sugar content is an essential indicator for evaluating crisp pear quality and categorization, being used for fruit quality identification and market sales prediction. In this study, we paired a support vector machine (SVM) algorithm with genetic algorithm optimization to reliably estimate the sugar content in crisp pears. We evaluated the spectral data and actual sugar content in crisp pears, then applied three preprocessing methods to the spectral data: standard normal variable transformation (SNV), multivariate scattering correction (MSC), and convolution smoothing (SG).

In order to address the challenges of inefficiency and insufficient accuracy in the manual identification of young citrus fruits during thinning processes, this study proposes a detection methodology using the you only look once for complex backgrounds of young citrus fruits (YCCB-YOLO) approach. The method first constructs a dataset containing images of young citrus fruits in a real orchard environment. To improve the detection accuracy while maintaining the computational efficiency, the study reconstructs the detection head and backbone network using pointwise convolution (PWonv) lightweight network, which reduces the complexity of the model without affecting the performance.

Selenium nanoparticle (Nano-Se) is a new type of selenium supplement, which can improve the deficiency of traditional selenium supplements and maintain its physiological activity. A rice classification method for the fast and non-destructive differentiation of different varieties is significant in research at present. In this study, fluorescence hyperspectral technology combined with machine learning techniques was used to distinguish five rice varieties by analyzing the fluorescence hyperspectral features of Thai jasmine rice and four rice varieties with a similar appearance to Thai jasmine rice in the wavelength range of 475-1000 nm. The fluorescence hyperspectral data were preprocessed by a first-order derivative (FD) to reduce the background and baseline drift effects of the rice samples.
