Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is a pregnancy-specific liver disease characterized by pruritus and elevated total bile acid (TBA) levels. The most serious impact of ICP is sudden unexplained intrauterine fetal death, especially when an associated TBA ≥ 100 µmol/L is confirmed.We report a case of a 27-year-old female patient with early-onset severe refractory ICP.

Association between Silva pattern-based classification and endocervical adenocarcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: To determine the relationship between the Silva pattern-based classification system and endocervical adenocarcinoma.

Methods: The PubMed, Embase, Central Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases were systematically searched for studies that investigated the correlation between the Silva classification system and the oncology prognosis or pathological features of endocervical adenocarcinoma, published in the period from January 2013 to March 2024.

Results: A total of 19 eligible studies including 3122 cases were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication after on-pump cardiac surgery, and previous studies have suggested that blood glucose is associated with postoperative AKI. However, limited evidence is available regarding intraoperative glycemic thresholds in cardiac surgery. The aim of this study was to explore the association between peak intraoperative blood glucose and postoperative AKI, and determine the cut-off values for intraoperative glucose concentration associated with an increased risk of AKI.

Background: Neurocognitive and psychiatric disorders have been proved that they can comorbid more often with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) than general population. However, the potential causal association between these disorders and iNPH has not been assessed. Thus, our study aims to investigate the causal relationship between them based on a bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis using NHANES data, focusing on SDT and OSA's association with HPV/HR-HPV infection. The primary statistical methods included weighted multivariate linear regression and logistic regression to assess the association between SDT, OSA, and HPV/HR-HPV infection.
