Purpose: Differentiating between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) can be challenging due to overlapping cognitive and behavioral manifestations. Evidence regarding non-invasive and early-stage biomarkers remains limited. Our aim was to identify retinal biomarkers for the risk of AD and FTD in populations without dementia and explore underlying brain structural mechanisms.

Clear cell meningioma (CCM) is an exceedingly rare subtype of meningioma, with spinal occurrences being even more uncommon. It predominantly affects children and is characterized by a high recurrence rate and poor prognosis, posing significant challenges for clinical treatment. Currently, gross total resection (GTR) is the best approach to reduce recurrence and improve prognosis in these patients.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors in the world, and its occurrence and development are closely related to the complex immune regulatory mechanisms. As the first barrier of the body's defense, innate immunity plays a key role in tumor immune surveillance and anti-tumor response, in which type I/III interferon (IFN) is an important mediator with significant antiviral and anti-tumor functions. 5-methylcytosine (m5C) modification of RNA is a key epigenetic regulation that promotes the expression of CRC oncogenes and immune-related genes.

Background: Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE)-mediated membrane fusion is crucial for autophagy, making YKT6, a key modulator of cell membrane fusion, a potential target for cancer therapy. However, its oncogenic role across different cancers remains unclear. This study was to investigate the prognostic value and potential immunological functions of YKT6, including cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC).

Background: Cardiovascular involvement is a rare but severe complication of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infections. Patients with chronic active EBV (CAEBV) are at increased risk of developing cardiovascular complications and have a poor prognosis. Here, we report the rare case of a pediatric patient with CAEBV and EBV- hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) complicated with a giant coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) and thrombosis, a giant Valsalva sinus aneurysm, and ascending aorta dilation seven years after the disease onset.

Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is the ultimate manifestation of the myocardial response to various genetic and environmental changes and is characterized mainly by impaired left ventricular systolic and diastolic function. DCM can ultimately lead to heart failure, ventricular arrhythmia (VA), and sudden cardiac death (SCD), making it a primary indication for heart transplantation. With advancements in modern medicine, several novel techniques for evaluating myocardial involvement and disease severity from diverse perspectives have been developed.

In 2001, Tang's team discovered a unique type of luminogens with substantial enhanced fluorescence upon aggregation and introduced the concept of "aggregation-induced emission (AIE)". Unlike conventional fluorescent materials, AIE luminogens (AIEgens) emit weak or no fluorescence in solution but become highly fluorescent in aggregated or solid states, due to a mechanism known as restriction of intramolecular motions (RIM). Initially considered a purely inorganic chemical phenomenon, AIE was later applied in biomedicine to improve the sensitivity of immunoassays.

Traditional treatment such as endoscopic surgery, open surgery, and adjuvant therapy have many disadvantages and are limited in the treatment of patients with recurrent AS. Therefore, it is urgent to reveal the pathogenesis of AS and accelerate its clinical transformation.

Inspired by the initial mineralization process with bone matrix vesicles (MVs), this study innovatively developed a delivery system to mediate mineralization during bone regeneration. The system comprises nanofibrous chitosan microspheres (NCM) and poly (allylamine hydrochloride)-stabilized amorphous calcium phosphate (PAH-ACP), which is thereafter referred to as NCMP. NCM is synthesized through the thermal induction of chitosan molecular chains, serving as the carrier, while PAH-ACP functions as the mineralization precursor.
