Many virus species, including Ebola virus, Marburg virus, SARS-CoV-2, dengue virus (DENV) and Zika virus (ZIKV), exploit CD209 and CD209L as alternative or attachment receptors for viral cis- or trans-infection. Thus, CD209 and CD209L may be critical targets for the development of therapeutic monoclonal blocking antibody drugs to disrupt the infection process caused by multiple viruses. Here, we produced a human chimeric monoclonal blocking antibody that simultaneously blocks CD209 and CD209L, namely 7-H7-B1.

Purpose: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification, one of the most common epigenetic modifications in eukaryotic mRNA, has been shown to play a role in the development and function of the mammalian nervous system by regulating the biological fate of mRNA. METTL3, the catalytically active component of the m6A methyltransferase complex, has been shown to be essential in development of in the retina. However, its role in the mature retina remains elusive.

Transactivation response (TAR) RNA-binding protein 2 (TRBP) plays a critical role in microRNA (miRNA) biosynthesis, with aberrant expression linked to various cancers. Previously, we identified , a phenyloxazole derivative that disrupts the TRBP-Dicer interaction in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In this study, we optimized this scaffold and substituent, leading to the discovery of , a 2-phenylthiazole-5-carboxylic acid derivative with nanomolar inhibitory activity (EC = 0.

The skin, as the body's largest organ, plays a crucial role in protecting against mechanical forces and infections, maintaining fluid balance, and regulating body temperature. Therefore, skin wounds can significantly threaten human health and cause a heavy economic burden on society. Recently, bioelectric fields and electrical stimulation (ES) have been recognized as a promising pathway for modulating tissue engineering and regeneration of wounded skin.

Background: Perioperative airway management and oxygenation maintenance during central airway obstruction (CAO) treatment pose great challenges. While veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-V ECMO) shows promise as a bridge therapy, optimal implementation and management strategies remain lacking. We present our experience with V-V ECMO in CAO management from a high-volume center.

Objective: To evaluate postoperative cerebral perfusion changes and their influencing factors in carotid endarterectomy (CEA) patients by integrating multimodal monitoring methods, including cerebral regional oxygen saturation (rSO), carotid ultrasound (CU), computed tomographic angiography (CTA), and computed tomographic perfusion imaging (CTP), with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) assessment.
Methods: We conducted a cohort study on patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis undergoing CEA at our institution. Pre- and postoperative assessments included CU, CTA, CTP, and rSO monitoring.

Background: Despite earlier research indicating a potential link between the development of sarcopenia and an elevated risk of frailty, the lack of comprehensive prospective data on the correlation between sarcopenia and frailty incidence leaves open the question of whether depression and cognitive function mediate this association.
Objective: The principal aim of the current investigation was to evaluate the intricate interplay among sarcopenia, depression, and cognitive function collectively influence the risk of developing frailty.
Methods: The participants included in this study were obtained from three waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), which collectively encompassed a total of 3,108 participants.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by painful swelling and inflammation, arising from the immune system attacking on healthy cells. However, arthritic sites often experience increased lymph flow, hastening drug clearance and potentially reducing treatment effectiveness. To address this challenge, an in situ size amplification has been proposed to reduce lymphatic clearance and thereby enhance arthritis therapy.

Background: Quadriceps tendon (QT), bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB), and hamstring tendon (HT) autografts are widely used for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), but the optimal autograft choice remains controversial. This study assessed the treatment effects of QT versus BPTB and HT autografts for ACLR.
Methods: The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched for eligible studies published from inception until July 2022.

Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (GMP)-adenosine monophosphate (AMP) synthase (cGAS) detects viral or endogenous DNA, activating the innate immune response to infections and autoimmune diseases. Upon binding to double-stranded DNA, cGAS synthesizes 2'3' cGMP-AMP, which triggers type I interferon production. Besides its presence in the cytosol and nucleus, cGAS is found at the plasma membrane, although its significance remains unclear.

Cellular immunotherapy represents a pivotal treatment modality in clinical practice. Regulatory B cells (Bregs), a key subset of B lymphocytes, hold promise in the management of autoimmune diseases, cancer and transplantation immunity. The expansion of Bregs for cell therapy is a promising strategy to alleviate inflammation and promote immune tolerance.

The current state of systemic therapy for advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC) has undergone significant changes. Currently, there are no clinical trials directly comparing various first-line systemic therapy regimens to each other, and these trials are unlikely to be conducted in the future. In this systematic review, after various abstracts and full-text articles published from the establishment of the database until October 2024 were searched, we included and analysed phase 3 clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy of different first-line systemic treatment regimens in advanced BTC.

Myeloid sarcoma (MS) is a rare hematological neoplasm with poor prognosis, posing a significant clinical challenge due to the absence of effective and standardized treatments. We conducted a retrospective analysis of 162 MS patients treated at 12 centers to compare outcomes between intensive chemotherapy and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Our analysis revealed that allo-HSCT demonstrated superior overall survival (OS) within the initial 36 months compared to intensive chemotherapy alone (p = 0.

Through the modulation of its surround, an identical visual stimulus can be perceived as more or less salient, allowing it to either stand out or seamlessly integrate with the rest of the visual scene. Gamma rhythms are associated with processing stimulus features across extensive areas of the visual field. Consistent with this concept, the magnitude of visually induced gamma rhythm depends on how well stimulus features aligned both within and outside the classical receptive field (CRF) at the recording site.
