The prevalence of coniferous trees in the forest landscapes of northeastern Siberia is conditioned by their high frost resistance. The Kajander larch ( Mayr), which can survive under natural conditions (down to -60 °C) in the cryolithozone of Yakutia, is the dominant forest-forming species. We hypothesise that our study using HPTLC-UV/Vis/FLD, TLC-GC/FID, and GC-MS methods of seasonal features of the lipid profile of Kajander larch tissues will bring us closer to understanding the mechanisms of participation of lipid components in the adaptation of this valuable tree species to the cold climate of the cryolithozone.

The review summarizes the results of previous and the latest studies on aromaticity and related concepts. The electron counting rule for 3D-aromatic systems 2(n + 1) is shown to be a generalization of the 4n + 2 rule for planar molecules, and, vice versa, the latter can be derived from the former. The relative stability of the push-pull and captodative aromatic systems is shown to depend on the nature of the groups separated by the C=C bond in geminal or vicinal positions.

Chronic immunoinflammatory rheumatic diseases, such as axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA), are accompanied by a dysregulation of bone remodeling. Among potential biomarkers of bone metabolism, the Wnt pathway antagonist, Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1), is of particular interest because of its potential to reflect a shift towards joint ossification or osteoporosis, but its diagnostic value needs validation. A class of variational inequalities describing the equilibrium of elastic Timoshenko plates whose boundary is in contact with the side surface of an inclined obstacle is considered. At the plate boundary, mixed conditions of Dirichlet type and a non-penetration condition of inequality type are imposed on displacements in the mid-plane. The novelty consists of modelling oblique interaction with the inclined obstacle which takes into account shear deformation and rotation of transverse cross-sections in the plate.

This study examines a class of time-dependent constitutive equations used to describe viscoelastic materials under creep in solid mechanics. In nonlinear elasticity, the strain response to the applied stress is expressed via an implicit graph allowing multi-valued functions. For coercive and maximal monotone graphs, the existence of a solution to the quasi-static viscoelastic problem is proven by applying the Browder-Minty fixed point theorem.

The comparison of the results of theoretical calculations of (O-Si) chelates of N-silylmethylated amides and ureas with the axial chlorine or fluorine atom at silicon to the data of X-ray analysis of related compounds revealed the formation of covalent O-Si tetrel bonds (TB) or noncovalent O⋅⋅⋅Si tetrel bonds (NTB). The nature of the formed tetrel bond depends on the substituents at silicon and the polarity of the medium. The competition between the intramolecular TB and intermolecular hydrogen bonds (HB) with proton donors depends on the center of basicity involved in the formation of HB, which could be either oxygen or halogen.

Two principal growth regulators, cytokinins and ethylene, are known to interact in the regulation of plant growth. However, information about the underlying molecular mechanism and positional specificity of cytokinin/ethylene crosstalk in the control of root growth is scarce. We have identified the spatial specificity of cytokinin-regulated root elongation and root apical meristem (RAM) size, both of which we demonstrate to be dependent on ethylene biosynthesis.

The research was aimed at studying the taxonomic diversity, habitat specialization, and trophic characteristics of mycobiota, including Basidiomycota, in the northern ecosystems of the Krasnoyarsk Krai (Central Siberia) near Norilsk. Larch forests and woodlands in the Siberian permafrost zone are distinctive and Basidiomycota, as a component of these ecosystems, plays an essential role in their functioning.
