Objective: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a prevalent condition in China, necessitating effective assessment tools for treatment outcomes. This study systematically reviews and analyzes the reliability, validity, and selection of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for evaluating KOA.
Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, a literature search was conducted across seven databases, including CNKI, PubMed, and Embase, covering publications from December 2012 to December 2022.

Aims: To compare the efficacy of thyroid hormone receptor beta (THR-β) agonists, fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF-21) analogues, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), GLP-1-based polyagonists, and pan-peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (Pan-PPAR) agonists in the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
Methods: A database search for relevant randomized double-blind controlled trials published until July 11, 2024, was conducted. Primary outcomes were the relative change in hepatic fat fraction (HFF) and liver stiffness assessed non-invasively by magnetic resonance imaging proton density fat fraction and elastography.

Cornus officinalis total glycosides (COTG) derived from the traditional Chinese medicine Cornus officinalis, is a natural immunosuppressant and has been extensively studied in immunomodulation and immunosuppression. This study aimed to explore the effects of COTG on granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) and its associated mechanisms. Compared to the model group, COTG effectively ameliorated histopathological damage to breast tissue, reduced mammary gland suppuration, and enhanced the blood-milk barrier.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly aggressive liver malignancy and one of the most lethal cancers globally, with limited effective therapeutic options. Bile acids (BAs), as primary metabolites of hepatic cholesterol, undergo enterohepatic circulation involving secretion into the intestine and reabsorption into the liver, and their composition is modulated in this process. Recent clinical observations have revealed a correlation between alteration in the BAs profile and HCC incidence, and the effect of various species of BAs on HCC development has been investigated.

Background: This study aims to accelerate revision surgery and treatment using X-ray imaging and deep learning to identify shoulder implant manufacturers in advance.
Methods: A feature engineering approach based on principal component analysis and a k-means algorithm was used to cluster shoulder implant data. In addition, a pre-trained DenseNet201 combined with a capsule network (DenseNet201-Caps) shoulder implant classification model was proposed.

Background: Acetaminophen (APAP)-induced hepatotoxicity is a major cause of acute liver failure (ALF), during which autophagy is triggered as a cellular defense mechanism. Shaoyao-Gancao Decoction (SGD), a traditional prescription in Chinese Medicine, is renowned for its therapeutic effects on liver diseases. However, the efficacy and mechanisms of SGD in treating APAP-induced liver injury remain underexplored.

Aging is an inevitable and irreversible biological process that gradually heightens the risks of various diseases and death. As a newly discovered endogenous gasotransmitter, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has been identified to exert multiple beneficial impacts on the regulation of aging and age-related pathologies. This study was aimed at systematically exploring the relationship between asynchronous aging processes and H2S concentrations in various tissues of aging mice.

Background: Ferroptosis, a novel iron-ion-dependent metabolic cell death mode with lipid peroxides as the main driving substrate, plays an irreplaceable role in the development and preventive treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Curcumin has potent pharmacological anti-tumor effects.
Aim Of The Study: We aimed to evaluate the ex vivo and in vivo cancer inhibitory activity of curcumin and its specific mechanism of action.

The intricate physiological and pathological diversity of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS) underpins its role in maintaining bodily equilibrium. This paper delves into the classical axis (Renin-ACE-Ang II-AT1R axis), the protective arm (ACE2-Ang (1-7)-MasR axis), the prorenin-PRR-MAP kinases ERK1/2 axis, and the Ang IV-AT4R-IRAP cascade of RAAS, examining their functions in both physiological and pathological states. The dysregulation or hyperactivation of RAAS is intricately linked to numerous diseases, including cardiovascular disease (CVD), renal damage, metabolic disease, eye disease, Gastrointestinal disease, nervous system and reproductive system diseases.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Fei-Yan-Qing-Hua decoction (FYQHD) is an empirical formula that has shown clinical success in treating community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) for two decades. Influenza viral infection is a significant trigger for severe pneumonia, yet the role of FYQHD in treating influenza remains unclear.
Aim Of The Study: This study aimed to assess the potential efficacy of FYQHD in treating influenza viral infection and to elucidate its underlying mechanisms.

Some patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) suffered from metabolic syndrome (MetS) including dyslipidemia, hyperinsulinism, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. Although C-terminal Binding Protein 1 (CTBP1) is a transcriptional co-repressor frequently involved in hormone secretion disorders and MetS-associated diseases, the role of CTBP1 in PCOS is rarely reported. In the present study, we found that CTBP1 expression was significantly elevated in primary granulosa cells (pGCs) derived from the PCOS with MetS patients and was positively associated with serum triglyceride, but negatively correlated with serum estradiol (E2) or high-density lipoprotein.

Depression is a psychological disorder associated with prolonged stress, which involves abnormal activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, leading to elevated levels of glucocorticoids (GC). Excessive GC can cause damage to the structure and function of the hippocampus, thereby triggering depressive symptoms. Studies suggest that the bile acid receptor farnesoid X receptor (FXR) may play a role in adrenal GC synthesis.

Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a major global cardiovascular health threat and the leading cause of death in many countries. The disease has a significant impact in China, where it has become the leading cause of death. There is an urgent need to develop non-invasive, rapid, cost-effective, and reliable techniques for the early detection of CAD using machine learning (ML).

Bile acids are byproducts of cholesterol metabolism in the liver and constitute the primary components of bile. Disruption of bile flow leads to cholestasis, characterized by the accumulation of hydrophobic bile acids in the liver and bloodstream. Such accumulation can exacerbate liver impairment.

Introduction: Acupuncture is widely used for metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) treatment; however, the clinical efficacy has not been confirmed due to the lack of high-level evidence-based clinical practice. The purpose of this study is to design a research protocol that will be used to determine the efficacy of acupuncture versus sham acupuncture (SHA) for MAFLD treatment.
Methods And Analysis: This will be a multicentre, randomised and sham-controlled trial.
