Introduction: Shoulder pain represents a common patient complaint evaluated in a primary care setting. Approximately two thirds of these patients have rotator cuff injuries, with rotator cuff tears (RCTs) and subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS) accounting for a majority of causes. An accurate and efficient diagnostic strategy focused on physical examination findings may lead to improved outcomes and less functional disability.

Background: Round shoulder posture (RSP), characterized by forward shoulder positioning from weakened and tense muscles, disrupts normal biomechanics and can cause Subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS), resulting in pain during specific movements or positions. This study examines the immediate effects of Kinesio taping (KT) on pain, proprioception, and posture in individuals in round shoulder individuals with SIS.
Methods: The study involved 114 patients diagnosed with RSP and SIS.

This study assessed Transcutaneous Pulse Radiofrequency Therapy's (TCPRF) effectiveness in reducing shoulder pain and improving shoulder function. A double-blind randomized controlled trial involved 50 SAIS patients with chronic shoulder pain. Participants were randomized into two groups: the study group (n = 27) received TCPRF, while the control (n = 23) received sham treatment.

Introduction: We experienced a rare case in which a bilateral snapping knee was caused by rheumatoid arthritis accompanied by Sjögren's syndrome (SS), and the symptoms were resolved by arthroscopic surgery.
Case Report: A 43-year-old Asian male presented at another hospital with finger, shoulder, and knee pain and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis accompanied by SS. Two months later, he developed the snapping phenomenon in both knees and presented at our hospital.

A 16-year-old male with hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) and Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) was referred to a clinical exercise physiologist (CEP) by their pediatric rheumatologist. The patient presented with arthralgia in the left knee and shoulder. Specifically, the left knee presented discomfort during activities of daily living (ADL), and the left shoulder had a reduced range of motion resulting from pain.

Despite the increasing number of cases in recent years, there are currently no data available on the disease and care situation for degenerative shoulder diseases and shoulder injuries, as well as on the ICD-10 coding behaviour of the treating physicians. This paper presents, for the first time, a descriptive analysis based on billing data from 2022 of coded shoulder diseases affecting 4.9 million insured individuals of a statutory health insurance in Baden-Württemberg.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Kinesio® tape on scapulothoracic joint kinematics during humerothoracic elevation and lowering in asymptomatic participants.
Method: Sixteen males and 24 females participated in data collection using the Polhemus G4 3D electromagnetic motion capture system. Dominant shoulder kinematics were collected while the participant performed three repetitions of elevation in the frontal, sagittal, and scapular planes.

There is limited high level research supporting the use of dry needling for mechanical shoulder pain. Dry needling is often used as an adjunct or primary treatment for musculoskeletal pain to address impairments related to muscle pain, range of motion (ROM), and strength deficits. This case study describes a 68-year-old female referred from her Physician to physical therapy (PT) with diagnosis of shoulder impingement syndrome.

Background: Several tests have been suggested for screening and diagnosis of cervical spine and shoulder girdle conditions underlying shoulder pain with variable degrees of clinical accuracy. The present study aimed to test the reliability, clinical benefit and screening value of the Swimmer Arm-to-Shoulder (SAS) test; a new clinical test developed to differentiate shoulder impingement from cervical radiculopathy in patients with shoulder pain of ≤ 12 weeks.
Methods: The study included 718 patients aged 40-65 years, with unilateral and localized shoulder girdle pain lasting for ≤ 12 weeks.

Introduction: A multidisciplinary approach is recommended to manage shoulder pain, the third most common musculoskeletal disorder, but traditional modalities have limitations, providing only temporary symptomatic pain relief instead of targeting the underlying pathophysiology. Recently, autologous peripheral blood-derived orthobiologics (APBOs) have become popular for the management of shoulder disorders. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is the most frequently used APBO, but its efficacy remains disputable.

Background: Patient-specific three-dimensional (3D) printed anatomic models are valuable clinical tools that facilitate enhanced visualization of pertinent anatomic structures and have demonstrated benefits of reduced surgical times, increased surgeon confidence, and improved operative results and subsequent patient outcomes. Medical image-based 3D printed anatomic models are generally created from computed tomography (CT), however magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which offers exquisite soft tissue characterization and flexible contrast avoiding the use of ionizing radiation, is an attractive alternative. Herein, the application of 3D printing incorporating both MR neurography and zero-echo time (ZTE) MRI for visualization of the brachial plexus anatomy in a subject with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is described.

Mechanical impingement of the rotator cuff tendons against the acromion (subacromial) and glenoid (internal) during shoulder motions has long been thought to contribute to tears. Clinically, the risk for impingement is thought to be influenced by scapular movement impairments. Therefore, our purpose was to determine the extent to which simulated changes in scapular orientation impact the proximity between the rotator cuff tendon footprint and the acromion and glenoid during scapular plane abduction.

Background: Subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS) is a prevalent cause of shoulder dysfunction, affecting a significant portion of the adult population. It is associated with considerable pain, functional limitations, and disability. The evolution of treatment options, including arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASAD), necessitates an updated evaluation of clinical outcomes and functional improvements.

Prolonged sleeping postures or unusual postures can lead to the development of various ailments such as subacromial impingement syndrome, sleep paralysis in the elderly, nocturnal gastroesophageal reflux, sore development, etc Fibre Bragg Gratings (a variety of optical sensors) have gained huge popularity due to their small size, higher sensitivity and responsivity, and encapsulation flexibilities. However, in the present study, FBG Arrays (two FBGs with 10 mm space between them) are employed as they are advantageous in terms of data collection, mitigating sensor location effects, and multiplexing features. In this work, Liquid silicone encapsulated FBG arrays are placed in the head (E), shoulder (C, D), and lower half body (A, B) region for analyzing the strain patterns generated by different sleeping postures namely, Supine (P1), Left Fetus (P2), Right Fetus (P3), and Over stomach (P4).
