Objective: Acute unilateral vestibulopathy (AUVP) is quite common in clinical practice, but lesion localization and etiological diagnosis of AUVP remain the current clinical challenges, and have always been the focus for researchers. The study aimed to explore the lesion site and possible etiology of AUVP.
Methods: This study is a retrospective study.

Melasma significantly impacts life quality, and while various laser therapies show promise, rigorous comparative studies, especially between the novel Picosecond Alexandrite Laser (PSAL) and the traditional combined modality of Q-switched and Long-pulse Nd: YAG Lasers (QLNYL), are notably lacking. This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating the efficacy and safety of these modalities, providing insights into their comparative advantages for clinical practice. In a prospective, evaluator-blinded study, 40 participants with Fitzpatrick Skin Types (FST) III and IV underwent three treatment sessions at four-week intervals with either PSAL or QLNYL.

Background: B-Raf proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase (BRAF)-mutant microsatellite stable (MSS) colorectal cancer (CRC) constitutes a distinct CRC subgroup, traditionally perceived as minimally responsive to standard therapies. Recent clinical attempts, such as BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi) monotherapy and combining BRAFi with other inhibitors, have yielded unsatisfactory efficacy. This study aims to identify a novel therapeutic strategy for this challenging subgroup.

Background: Few studies investigated the implications of post-PCI QFR and post-PCI ΔQFR (absolute increase of QFR) in de novo lesions of small coronary disease after drug-coated balloon (DCB).
Objectives: We sought to investigate the prognostic implications of post-PCI QFR and post-PCI ΔQFR in patients who received DCB only.
Methods: Patients were divided according to the optimal cutoff value of the post-PCI QFR and the post-PCI ΔQFR.

Objective: Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is a rare disease characterized by the presence of fibroinflammatory tissue that surrounds the abdominal aorta and the iliac arteries and often entraps the ureters. Hydronephrosis is a common complication of RPF, however, its clinical features and outcomes have not been well elucidated.
Methods: A total of 115 RPF-related hydronephrosis patients have been recruited from 9 clinical centers in China since March 2010.

Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance combined with renal damage is named monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance. There are few reports about IgA vasculitis in patients with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance. Here, we report a case of monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance, who had manifestations of IgA vasculitis, including purpura, gastrointestinal bleeding and joint pain.

Background And Objective: We investigated the association of alleles with CT-based cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) markers including subarachnoid extension (SAE) and finger-like projection (FLP).
Methods: We included patients with acute primary supratentorial intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) from a multicentre cohort in China. First, the association of with ICH location (lobar vs non-lobar) was evaluated.

Peri-implant infection is a serious complication in orthopedic surgery. This study aimed to reduce the incidence of peri-implant infection by developing a durable and safe antibacterial silver coating. We compared the antibacterial properties and process controllability of various coating techniques to identify the most effective method for silver coating.

Objective: To evaluate the potential of leukocyte-specific protein 1 (LCP1) and adenosine diphosphate-dependent glucokinase (ADPGK) as predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy-related adverse events in late-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with the KARS G12C mutation undergoing treatment with programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibodies.
Methods: A total of 160 late-stage NSCLC patients with the KARS G12C mutation receiving PD-1 monoclonal antibody treatment were retrospectively analyzed. LCP1 and ADPGK expression levels were assessed at both mRNA and protein levels using validated methods.

Evidence regarding the neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) and mortality risk in diabetes patients is scarce. This study aimed at investigating the prognostic value of NPAR for mortality in patients with diabetes. This retrospective analysis was conducted on 6,962 diabetic patients from the NHANES database.

Background: Androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSis), when administered sequentially or in combination with docetaxel and androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), have been shown to enhance overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). Nonetheless, the optimal sequence for administering chemotherapy and ARSis remains to be determined.
Objective: To compare the efficacy of ARSis sequential therapy with ARSis combined therapy for mHSPC, and to evaluate the efficacy and safety of different combination regimens.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major cause of cancer-related death worldwide and an effective screening strategy for diagnosis of early-stage CRC is highly desired. Although extracellular vesicles (EVs) are expected to become some of the most promising tools for liquid biopsy of early disease diagnosis, the existing EV-based proteomics methods for practical application in clinical samples are limited by technical challenges in high-throughput isolation and detection of EVs. In the current study, we have developed a simplified and efficient EV-based proteomics strategy for early diagnosis of CRC.

Background: Tuberculosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are significant public health challenges, with pulmonary tuberculosis recognized as a pivotal risk factor for the development of COPD. Tuberculosis-associated COPD is increasingly recognized as a distinct phenotype of COPD that potentially exhibits unique clinical features. A thorough understanding of the precise definition, clinical manifestations, prognosis, and most effective pharmacological strategies for tuberculosis-associated COPD warrants further investigation.

Introduction: We aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pioglitazone/metformin fixed-dose combination (FDC) versus uptitrated metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) without adequate glycemic control.
Methods: A total of 304 patients were recruited from 15 hospitals in China and randomly assigned (1:1) to the test group (pioglitazone/metformin FDC, 15/500 mg) or the control group (uptitrated metformin, 2000-2500 mg/day). The primary endpoint was the proportion of patients with glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) ≤ 6.

Background: Pulsed field ablation, as a non-thermal ablation modality, has received increasing attention. The aim of this study is to explore whether a reversible pulsed electric field (RPEF) can temporarily inhibit electrical conduction and provide a novel method for precise ablation of arrhythmia.
Methods: RPEF energy was delivered from an ablation catheter to the atrium of six dogs, followed by a series of electrogram and histology assessments.

Objective: The main objective of this study was to create and assess a detailed diagnostic model with an optimizing feature selection algorithm that combines computed tomography (CT) imaging characteristics, demographic information, and genetic markers to enhance the accuracy of benign and malignant classification of osteosarcoma. This research seeks to enhance the early identification and categorization of benign and malignant of osteosarcoma, ultimately enabling more personalized and efficient treatment approaches.
Methods: Data from 225 patients diagnosed with osteosarcoma at two different medical institutions between June 2018 and June 2021 were gathered for this research study.
