Objective: Assessing retention rate and risk factor for drug discontinuation is important for drug evaluation. We examined a 3-year retention rate and the risk factor for discontinuation due to insufficient efficacy (IE) and adverse events (AE) in Japanese patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who are receiving etanercept (ETN).
Methods: Data were collected from 588 patients treated with ETN as a first biologic from the Tsurumai Biologics Communication Registry.

We report a case of successful embolization of jejunal varices that were the cause of massive gastrointestinal bleeding from a choledochojejunostomy site, resulting from obstruction of the extrahepatic portal vein. A 42-year-old man who had undergone choledochojejunostomy for intrahepatic and choledochal stones was readmitted after he started passing massive dark bloody stools. Gastrointestinal endoscopic examination and angiography could not identify the source of bleeding.

Plasma lipase, C-peptide reactivity (CPR) and human pancreatic polypeptide (HPP) responses after ingestion of elemental diet were studied in 27 patients with chronic pancreatitis.
