Several new procedures, submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection, gastric-POEM, Zenker POEM, per-rectal endoscopic myotomy, diverticular POEM, and recanalization for complete esophageal obstruction (per-oral endoscopic tunneling for restoration of the esophagus), have been performed.
