Because previous randomized clinical trials have failed to show any benefits of renal artery stenting (RAS), clinicians have been confused regarding the optimal management of patients with atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS). Here, we report a notable case with ARAS whose clinical course could help clinicians identify patients suitable for RAS. A 66-year-old woman with ARAS and some parameter abnormalities on renal duplex ultrasound was admitted to our hospital with severe hypertension (>250 mmHg).

Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) can still occur in hepatitis C virus (HCV) patients who have achieved a sustained virologic response (SVR), which remains an important clinical issue in the direct-acting antivirals era. The current study investigated the clinical utility of the aMAP score (consisting of age, male, albumin-bilirubin, and platelets) for predicting HCC occurrence in HCV patients achieving an SVR by direct-acting antivirals.

Methods: A total of 1113 HCV patients without HCC history, all of whom achieved an SVR, were enrolled for clinical comparisons.

Methods: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase III trial, 1509 patients with nmCRPC and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) doubling time ≤ 10 months were randomized 2:1 to darolutamide 600 mg twice daily or matched placebo while continuing androgen deprivation therapy.

Increasing incidence of acute autoimmune hepatitis: a nationwide survey in Japan.

The Japanese diagnostic guidelines for autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) were proposed in 2014. This study aimed to determine the trends and characteristics of AIH based on a Japanese nationwide survey. Data for 796 patients who were newly diagnosed with AIH from 2014 to 2017 were collected from January to March, 2019 from 54 hospitals throughout Japan.
