The prognosis and QOL of unresectable pancreatic cancer are very poor. A symptomless 60-year-old male was admitted for examination of a high serum CA19-9 level. Following ultrasound and abdominal CT, we diagnosed unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer with multiple liver metastasis.

[A case of multiple liver metastases from breast cancer in which we confirmed disappearance of cancer cells after hepatic resection following hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy].

A 46-year-old woman underwent right mastectomy for stage IIA breast cancer in 1993. Six years and 8 months after this operation, she was diagnosed as having multiple liver metastasis form the breast cancer. An intra-arterial catheter was inserted percutaneously into the hepatic artery and she was given hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy and general chemoendocrine therapy.

We report a case of malignant pericardial effusion due to breast cancer that was successfully controlled by intrapericardial chemotherapy using pirarubicin. A 53-year-old woman underwent breast conserving therapy for left breast cancer in 1996. She was given CAF therapy and UFT as adjuvant therapy.

[A case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of mesocolon successfully resected after combined chemotherapy with epirubicin, CDDP and vincristine].

We experienced a case of MFH of the sigmoid mesocolon which was successfully resected after preoperative combined chemotherapy. A 66-year-old male underwent a laparotomy following a diagnosis of retroperitoneal tumor. The tumor had extensively invaded the surrounding tissue and an incisional biopsy was done.

[A case of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy with docetaxel for liver metastasis from breast cancer].

We experienced a case of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy using docetaxel for liver metastasis, which showed no response to CEF therapy, from breast cancer. A 63-year-old woman had undergone modified radical mastectomy for right breast cancer (T2aN1bM0: Stage II) in October, 1995. Six-cycle CMF therapy and toremifene citrate (40 mg/day) were administered as adjuvant therapy, but multiple recurrent tumors in liver, lung, and local site were detected in February 1997.

[Serial assessment of MIBG scintigraphy in a case of DCM with heart failure improved by beta-blocker therapy].

We experienced a case of DCM (62-year-old man) improved by beta-blocker (Metoprolol) therapy and studied time course of MIBG scintigraphy. We measured cardiac functions by UCG and 99mTc cardiac pool imaging, and MIBG scintigraphy during 12 months of beta-blocker therapy. In planar images we measured washout rate (WR) in total myocardium and regional washout rate (rWR) in 6 segments of myocardium.
