Hydroa vacciniforme (HV) is a rare photodermatosis that mainly affects children and manifests as vesiculopapular eruptions in sun-exposed areas without systemic symptoms. HV-like lymphoma (HVLL) is one of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD) of childhood. Its diagnosis is based on monoclonal T-cell proliferation; however, its degree of malignancy is controversial owing to its variable prognosis.

Background: Risk factors for hallux valgus recurrence include postoperative round-shaped lateral edge of the first metatarsal head and postoperative incomplete reduction of the sesamoids. Using a computer database, the author investigated the histopathology of 10 000 consecutive gastric specimens, taken in the last 12 years (2002-2013) at the pathology laboratory of a Japanese hospital. Re-observation of the already examined histological sections was done when the histological diagnosis and findings on the computer data base were not very obvious. The gastric specimens were identified as 8579 benign conditions and 1421 malignant lesions.

Intravenous immunoglobulin therapy and plasma exchange through transfusion of fresh frozen plasma are therapeutic options for patients with refractory pemphigus vulgaris. Passive acquisition of various clinically important antibodies through these therapies can occur, leading to false serology and negatively affecting patients' clinical care. It is recommended that dermatologists recognize the possibility of these phenomena and interpret them appropriately.

Background: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is one of the most common causes of chronic cough and often coexists with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); however, it is unknown whether there are differences in the effect of GERD on these diseases. The aim of this prospective study was to assess whether accelerometry-based gait analysis is associated with the incidence of falls among individuals who are ambulatory and recently had a fracture, and to compare the ability to discriminate body function and structure and activity measures. There are no studies on stem cells (SCs) and development and differentiation (DD) of the human adrenal glands. The SCs in DD of the adrenal glands were herein investigated histochemically and immunohistochemically in 18 human embryonic adrenal glands at gestational week (GW) 7-40. Extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) occurring in inflammatory bowel diseases, including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease, has been reported, although it is extremely rare. An 18-year-old man with a two-years history of UC underwent colon endoscopy, and was found to have active total UC ranging from anus to cecum. Six biopsies were obtained.
