The removal of boron from wastewater is essential for protecting environmental health and supporting sustainable urbanization by preventing toxic accumulation in ecosystems. Existing adsorption technologies face challenges such as limited capacity, slow kinetics, high regeneration costs, and reduced efficiency due to adsorbent saturation. This study develops an eco-friendly adsorbent (CGCNF beads) by modifying chitosan nanofibers with d-(+)-glucono-1,5-lactone (GL) to enhance boron removal.

Although Raman spectroscopy can distinguish various materials, the measurement of Raman spectra through standoff detection is challenging because of the low scattering cross-section of Raman scattering. The resonance Raman scattering effect in the deep-ultraviolet wavelength region is promising in terms of enhancing the spectral intensity of Raman scattering.

Considering that the ultrasonic method is applied for the quality evaluation of concrete, this study experimentally and numerically investigates the effect of inhomogeneity caused by changes in the moisture content of concrete on ultrasonic wave propagation. The experimental results demonstrate that the propagation velocity and amplitude of the ultrasonic wave vary for different moisture content distributions in the specimens. In the analytical study, the characteristics obtained experimentally are reproduced by modeling a system in which the moisture content varies between the surface layer and interior of concrete.

Chlorination is the most common method to control water qualities, in some case on-site outdoor measurements are required to measure easily-decaying residual chlorine concentration appropriately without delay. In this study sunlight-induced unexpected colour development (UCD) of N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine (DPD) colorimetric measurement was studied under several sun exposure conditions. The colour development level was evaluated with reference to chlorine concentration (mg/L) and relationships between colour development rate (mg/L min) and intensities of solar were investigated.

Although there are drugs that are effective against this disease, the prevention and attenuation of ulcerative colitis by food rich in functional ingredients without side effects is desired because some drugs have side effects. In this study, we investigated the effects of yuzu (Citrus junos Tanaka), a citrus fruit native to northeast Asia, on a mouse dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model.
