Modulation of coordination configuration is crucial for boosting the biomimetic catalytic activity of nanozymes, but remains challenging. Here, we found that the non-first-shell amino group in the ligand was capable of steering the N/S coordination number through remote induction to enable the formation of a low-coordinated CuNS configuration. This endowed the resulting nanozyme (ATT-Cu) with an upshifted d-band center compared with a control nanozyme (TT-Cu) with CuNS configuration, enhancing the adsorption capabilities of ATT-Cu for O and HO intermediates as well as its affinity for catechol.

This study aims to investigate the mitigating effect and mechanism of Cichorium glandulosum n-butanol extraction site(CGE) on the disease in carbon tetrachloride(CCl_4)-induced chronic liver injury model in rats. A chronic liver injury model was constructed by subcutaneous injection of CCl_4 olive oil solution, and after four weeks of CGE treatment, serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), alkaline phosphatase(AKP), hydroxyproline(HYP), interleukin-4(IL-4), interleukin-6(IL-6), malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD), and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) were detected. Liver tissue was processed by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining and Masson staining to observe the structure of the rat liver.

April 2024

Department of Pathology, Central People's Hospital of Zhanjiang and Zhanjiang Central Hospital, Guangdong Medical University, Zhanjiang, Guangdong, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Seipin deficiency contributes to type 2 Berardinelli-Seip congenital dyslipidemia, a serious condition characterized by low fat tissue, liver fat buildup, and insulin resistance, but normal or increased bone density.
  • Research using seipin knockout mice shows that their lack of seipin results in more subcutaneous fat loss and increased bone density compared to wild-type mice, alongside altered gene expression in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs).
  • The study concludes that seipin plays a crucial role in balancing the differentiation of BMSCs into bone or fat cells, suggesting potential therapeutic strategies for treating lipid metabolism disorders associated with BSCL2 through stem cell transplantation.

Electrocatalytic hydrogenation of benzoic acid (BA) to cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (CCA) at ambient temperature and pressure has been recognized as a promising alternative to thermal hydrogenation since water is required as the hydrogen source. So far, only a few Pt-based electrocatalysts have been developed in acidic electrolyte. To overcome the limitations of reactant solubility and catalyst corrosion, herein, carbon fiber-supported Ru electrocatalysts with abundant Ru/RuO heterojunctions were fabricated cyclic electrodeposition between -0.
