Aim: Hypothermia is associated with poor prognosis in patients with sepsis. However, no studies have explored the correlation between the severity of hypothermia and prognosis.
Methods: Using data from the Japanese accidental hypothermia network registry (J-Point registry), we examined adult patients aged ≥18 years with infectious diseases whose initial body temperature was ≤35°C from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2016, in 12 centers.
A 76-year-old woman with cT1bN2M1b stage IVA spindle cell carcinoma of the right lower lobe of the lung, no driver gene mutation, and programmed death ligand 1 < 1%, was started on ipilimumab+nivolumab+carboplatin+paclitaxel. After two courses, the patient initiated maintenance therapy with ipilimumab+nivolumab. New multiple brain metastases were observed during treatment but resolved with continued treatment.

We aimed to explore the factors associated with newly diagnosed infection after admission for acute heart failure, and its association with in-hospital and post-discharge clinical outcomes. Methods and Results Among 4056 patients enrolled in the Kyoto Congestive Heart Failure registry, 2399 patients without any obvious infectious disease upon admission were analyzed.

We sought to explore the effects of previous heart failure (HF) hospitalization on mortality in patients hospitalized for acute decompensated HF (ADHF) in a large Japanese contemporary observational database. We prospectively enrolled consecutive patients with ADHF in 19 participating hospitals between October 2014 and March 2016. Of 4,056 patients, 1,442 patients (35.

We report a case of angiomyofibroblastoma which arose in the vulva of a 46-year-old woman. The tumor formed a large pedunculated polypoid mass, measuring 14 cm in maximal dimension, which hung down from the right labium majus. It consisted of a dense or loose proliferation of fibroblastic and myofibroblastic cells on an edematous background, and the tumor cells occasionally exhibited an increased cellularity around well-developed, medium-sized or small blood vessels.
