  • Traditional medicine has utilized fenugreek for centuries to treat conditions like diabetes, and recent interest focuses on enhancing its medicinal properties through elicitation strategies.
  • The study reveals that a lyophilized powder made from vitamin C-treated germinated fenugreek sprouts (IM6E) shows strong inhibition of enzymes related to carbohydrate digestion and higher concentrations of beneficial phytochemicals, particularly quercetin.
  • In diabetic rats, IM6E demonstrated significant reductions in blood glucose levels post-meals, improved antioxidant activity, and normalized various biochemical markers, indicating its potential effectiveness as a natural anti-diabetic treatment.
