August 2024

Water Science and Environmental Engineering Research Center, College of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, 518060, China.

Heavy metal ions pose significant risks to human health, pelagic, and several other life forms due to perniciousness, tendency to accumulate, and resistance to biodegradation. Waste bio-materials extend a budding alternative as low-cost adsorbent to address the removal of noxious pollutants from wastewater on account of being cost-effective and exhibiting exceptional adsorption capacities. The current exploration was accomplished to gauge the performance of raw and modified human hair concerning lead scavenging in a down-flow fixed bed column.

Strigolactones as promising biomolecule for oxidative stress management: A comprehensive review.

Plant Physiol Biochem

January 2024

Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute, Jeju National University, Jeju, 63243, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Strigolactones, which are a group of plant hormones, have emerged as promising biomolecules for effectively managing oxidative stress in plants. Oxidative stress occurs when the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) exceeds the plant's ability to detoxify or scavenge these harmful molecules. An elevation in reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels often occurs in response to a range of stressors in plants.
