Background: The heterogeneity within breast cancer and its microenvironment are associated with metastasis. Analyzing distinct tumor subregions using habitat analysis and characterizing the tumor microenvironment through radiomics may be valuable for predicting axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM) in breast cancer. This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram for predicting ALNM in breast cancer patients by integrating clinicopathological, intra- or peri-tumoral radiomic, and habitat signatures based on dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and determine the optimal peritumoral region size for accurate prediction.

Introduction: Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) of the intestine of preterm infants leads to the risk of abdominal surgery, short bowel syndrome, neurodevelopmental disorders and death. Although the risks of NEC and its complications have been recognised in many countries, few countries have established NEC-specific registries to continuously monitor its aetiology and prognosis. Survival and morbidity in very preterm infants in Shenzhen: a multi-center study.

Objective: To analyze survival and morbidity among very preterm infants (VPIs) in Shenzhen and explore factors associated with survival without major morbidity.

Methods: Between January 2022 and December 2022, 797 infants were admitted to 25 neonatal intensive care units in Shenzhen with gestational age (GA) < 32 weeks, excluded discharged against medical advice, insufficient information, and congenital malformation, 742 VPIs were included. Comparison of maternal and neonate characteristics, morbidities, survival, and survival without major morbidities between groups used Mann Whitney test and test, multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze of risk factors of survival without major morbidities.

Bufotalin-loaded biomimetic Prussian blue nanoparticles for colorectal cancer chemo-photothermal ferroptosis therapy.

We constructed biomimetic nanoparticles with biocompatible, tumor-targeting, laser-responsive properties for ferroptosis-induced colorectal cancer chemo-photothermal therapy, with the aim to realize double-hit ferroptosis treatment for colorectal cancer. The nanoparticles were prepared by first loading the chemotherapy drug bufotalin (CS-5) with Prussian blue (PB), then combining a hybridized erythrocyte-tumor membrane (M) with PB@CS-5 to produce PB@CS-5@M. The chemo-photothermal therapy efficiency of PB@CS-5@M was tested by and experiments.

Macro-analysis of climatic factors for COVID-19 pandemic based on Köppen-Geiger climate classification.

This study integrated dynamic models and statistical methods to design a novel macroanalysis approach to judge the climate impacts. First, the incidence difference across Köppen-Geiger climate regions was used to determine the four risk areas. Then, the effective influence of climate factors was proved according to the non-climate factors' non-difference among the risk areas, multi-source non-major component data assisting the proof.

Metagenomic sequencing combined with flow cytometry facilitated a novel microbial risk assessment framework for bacterial pathogens in municipal wastewater without cultivation.

A workflow that combined metagenomic sequencing with flow cytometry was developed. The absolute abundance of pathogens was accurately estimated in mock communities and real samples. Metagenome-assembled genomes binned from metagenomic data set is robust in phylogenetic analysis and virulence profiling.

Efficacy and safety of liraglutide in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and severe obstructive sleep apnea.

Objectives: To observe the efficacy and side effects of liraglutide in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Methods: The study conducted in an outpatient setting was a two-center, prospective randomized controlled study. T2DM patients with severe OSA were randomized to the control group (continuous positive airway pressure [CPAP] and drug treatment without liraglutide) or the liraglutide group (CPAP and drug treatment including liraglutide).

Osteonecrosis tends to occur specifically in maxillofacial bones, in spite of a systemic administration of the medicine. Previous studies suggested rich blood supply and fast bone turnover might be reasons for BRONJ.

Angiostrongylus cantonensis (AC) is well-documented that parasitizes the host brain and causes eosinophilic meningitis. The migration route of AC in permissive hosts is well demonstrated, while in nonpermissive hosts, it remains to be fully defined. In the present study, we exploited live imaging technology, morphological and pathological configuration analysis, and molecular biological technologies to explore the migration route of AC and the accompanying tissue damage in nonpermissive and permissive hosts.
