Li-TFSI/t-BP is the most widely utilized p-dopant for hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in state-of-the-art perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, its nonuniformity of doping, along with the hygroscopicity and migration of dopants, results in the devices exhibiting limited stability and performance. This study reports on the utilization of a spherical anion derived from the p-dopant, regulated by its radius and shape, as an alternative to the linear TFSI anion.

Perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells (TSCs) are promising candidates for commercialization due to their outstanding power conversion efficiencies (PCEs). However, controlling the crystallization process and alleviating the phases/composition inhomogeneity represent a considerable challenge for perovskite layers grown on rough silicon substrates, ultimately limiting the efficiency and stability of TSC. Here, this study reports a "halide locking" strategy that simultaneously modulates the nucleation and crystal growth process of wide bandgap perovskites by introducing a multifunctional ammonium salt, thioacetylacetamide hydrochloride (TAACl), to bind with all types of cations and anions in the mixed halide perovskite precursor.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is accompanied by an altered gut microbiota but whether the latter contributes to carcinogenesis is unclear. Here we show that faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) using stool samples from patients with HCC spontaneously initiate liver inflammation, fibrosis and dysplasia in wild-type mice, and accelerate disease progression in a mouse model of HCC. We find that HCC-FMT results in gut barrier injury and translocation of live bacteria to the liver.

[n]Peri-acenes ([n]PA) have attracted great interest as promising candidates for nanoelectronics and spintronics. However, the synthesis of large [n]PA (n > 4) is extremely challenging due to their intrinsic open-shell radical character and high reactivity. Herein, we report the successful synthesis and isolation of a derivative (1) of peri-hexacene in crystalline form.

Metal nanocatalysts supported on oxide scaffolds have been widely used in energy storage and conversion reactions. So far, the main research is still focused on the growth, density, size, and activity enhancement of exsolved nanoparticles (NPs). However, the lack of precise regulation of the type and composition of NPs elements under reduction conditions has restricted the architectural development of in situ exsolution systems.

Plant-based foods with low methionine contents have gained increasing interest for their potential health benefits, including neuroprotective effects. Methionine restriction (MR) linked to a plant-based diet has been shown to mitigate neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) through mechanisms that involve the gut microbiota. In this study, a 16-week MR diet (0.

Poly(amino acids), polypeptides, and their derivatives have demonstrated significant potential as biodegradable biomaterials in the field of drug delivery. As degradable drug carriers, they can effectively load or conjugate drug molecules including small molecule drugs, nucleic acids, peptides, and protein-based drugs, enhancing the stability and targeting of the drugs . This strategy ultimately facilitates precise drug delivery and controlled release, thereby improving therapeutic efficacy and reducing side effects within the body.

The metabolism of cancer and immune cells plays a crucial role in the initiation, progression, and metastasis of cancer. Cancer cells often undergo metabolic reprogramming to sustain their rapid growth and proliferation, along with meeting their energy demands and biosynthetic needs. Nevertheless, immune cells execute their immune response functions through the specific metabolic pathways, either to recognize, attack, and eliminate cancer cells or to promote the growth or metastasis of cancer cells.

There is increasing evidence that ecosystems are affected by multiple global change factors, impeding the sustainability of multiple soil functions. Biodiversity can buffer ecosystem functions against environmental changes, a concept largely supported by insurance and portfolio theories. However, the role of soil biodiversity, especially the diversity of abundant and rare microbial taxa, in regulating soil multifunctionality resistance under an increasing number of global change factors remains poorly explored.

Gel electrolytes have emerged as a promising solution for enhancing the performance of zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs), particularly in flexible devices. However, they face challenges such as low-temperature inefficiency, constrained ionic conductivity, and poor mechanical strength. To address these issues, this study presents a novel PAMCD gel electrolyte with tunable freezing point and mechanical properties for ZIBs, blending the high ionic conductivity of polyacrylamide with the anion interaction capability of β-cyclodextrin.

Redox-active covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been demonstrated as promising organic electrodes in many electrochemical devices. However, their inherently low conductivity significantly hinders the full utilization of their internal redox-active sites. To address this issue, a simple solvothermal method is used to in situ polymerize 2,4,6-triformylphloroglucinol (TP) and p-phenylenediamine (PA) on the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), generating a nanocable-like COF-based nanocomposite, TpPa-COF@CNT nanocables, which contain abundant β-ketoenamine groups.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play a pivotal role in cancer metastasis and hold considerable potential for clinical diagnosis, therapeutic monitoring, and prognostic evaluation. Nevertheless, the limited quantity of CTCs in liquid biopsy samples poses challenges for comprehensive downstream analysis. In vitro culture of CTCs can effectively address the issue of insufficient CTC numbers.

Background: Tibetan Plateau is credited as the "Third Pole" after the Arctic and the Antarctic, and lakes there represent a pristine habitat ideal for studying microbial processes under climate change.
Results: Here, we collected 169 samples from 54 lakes including those from the central Tibetan region that was underrepresented previously, grouped them to freshwater, brackish, and saline lakes, and generated a genome atlas of the Tibetan Plateau Lake Microbiome. This genomic atlas comprises 8271 metagenome-assembled genomes featured by having significant phylogenetic and functional novelty.
