Following the introduction of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI), the number of patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) for chronic phase (CP) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) has dramatically decreased. Imatinib was the first TKI introduced to the clinical arena, predominantly utilized in the first line setting. In cases of insufficient response, resistance, or intolerance, CML patients can subsequently be treated with either a second or third generation TKI.

Introduction: Computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) is an essential test in the work-up of suspected pulmonary vascular disease including pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism. Cardiac and great vessel assessments on CTPA are based on visual assessment and manual measurements which are known to have poor reproducibility. The primary aim of this study was to develop an automated whole heart segmentation (four chamber and great vessels) model for CTPA.

Background: Progressive ataxias frequently lead to speech disorders and consequently impact on communication participation and psychosocial wellbeing. Whilst recent studies demonstrate the potential for improvements in these areas, these treatments generally require intensive input which can reduce acceptability of the approach. A new model of care-ClearSpeechTogether-is proposed which maximises treatment intensity whilst minimising demands on clinician.

Purpose: Biallelic variants in UCHL1 have been associated with a progressive early-onset neurodegenerative disorder, autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia type 79. In this study, we investigated heterozygous UCHL1 variants on the basis of results from cohort-based burden analyses.
Methods: Gene-burden analyses were performed on exome and genome data of independent cohorts of patients with hereditary ataxia and spastic paraplegia from Germany and the United Kingdom in a total of 3169 patients and 33,141 controls.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Patient-reported outcome measure instruments include patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and patient-reported goals (PRGs), which allow practitioners to measure symptoms and determine outcomes of treatment that matter to patients.
Methods: This is a structured review completed by the International Urogynecology Consultation (IUC), sponsored by the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA). The aim of this working group was to evaluate and synthesize the existing evidence for PROs and PRGs in the initial clinical work-up/evaluation and research arena for patients with pelvic organ prolapse (POP).

Background: Robotic radical prostatectomy (RARP) is a first-line curative treatment option for localized prostate cancer. Postoperative erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence are common associated adverse side effects that can negatively impact patients' quality of life. Preserving the lateral neurovascular bundles (NS) during RARP improves functional outcomes.

Background: Women with a new cancer diagnosis face complex decisions about interventions aiming to preserve their fertility. Decision aids are more effective in supporting decision making than traditional information provision. We describe the development and field testing of a novel patient decision aid designed to support women to make fertility preservation treatment decisions around cancer diagnosis.

The first consensus guidelines for scoring the histopathological growth patterns (HGPs) of liver metastases were established in 2017. Since then, numerous studies have applied these guidelines, have further substantiated the potential clinical value of the HGPs in patients with liver metastases from various tumour types and are starting to shed light on the biology of the distinct HGPs. In the present guidelines, we give an overview of these studies, discuss novel strategies for predicting the HGPs of liver metastases, such as deep-learning algorithms for whole-slide histopathology images and medical imaging, and highlight liver metastasis animal models that exhibit features of the different HGPs.

The accuracy of multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) in the pre-operative staging of prostate cancer (PCa) remains controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of mpMRI to accurately predict PCa extra-prostatic extension (EPE) on a side-specific basis using a risk-stratified 5-point Likert scale. This study also aimed to assess the influence of mpMRI scan quality on diagnostic accuracy.
