We theoretically investigate the model of a quadratically coupled optomechanical system with a Newtonian gravitational potential in the weak-driving regime, where the optical cavity is driven by an external laser. The steady state of the whole system is treated in the framework of a few-photon subspace. We find that the conventional single-photon blockade, nonstandard types of single-photon blockade, two-photon blockade, and photon-induced tunneling can be induced by gravity when the quadratic optomechanical coupling strength remains constant.

Gastric cancer (GC), the third most lethal cancer worldwide, is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, leaving limited therapeutic options. Given the diverse outcomes among GC patients with similar AJCC/UICC-TNM characteristics, there is a pressing need for more reliable prognostic tools. Recent advances in targeted therapy and immunotherapy have underscored this necessity.

Owing to the significant attention directed toward alloy metal nanoclusters, it is crucial to explore the relationship between their structures and their performance during the electrocatalytic CO reduction reaction (eCORR) and discover potential synergistic effects for the design of novel functional nanoclusters. However, a lack of suitable analogs makes this investigation challenging. In this study, we synthesized a well-defined pair of structural analogs, [AuCu(SAdm)(Dppm)Cl] and [AuAg(SAdm)(Dppm)Cl] (AuCu and AuAg, respectively), and characterized them.

Herein, we disclosed a highly efficient pathway toward 3-selenylated chromone derivatives via electrocatalytic cascade selenylation/cyclization/deamination of 2-hydroxyaryl enaminones with diselenides. This method showed mild conditions, easy operation, wide substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance. Furthermore, this electrosynthesis strategy was amendable to scale-up the reaction.

The intercellular communication of mechanotransduction has a significant impact on various cellular processes. Tunneling nanotubes (TNTs) have been documented to possess the capability of transmitting mechanical stimulation between cells, thereby triggering an influx of Ca ions. However, the related kinetic information on the TNT-mediated intercellular mechanotransduction communication is still poorly explored.

Synergistically improving the mechanical and degradable properties of polylactic acid (PLA) scaffolds and endowing them with bioactivity are urgent problems to be solved in deepening their application in tissue engineering. In this work, tetracalcium phosphate (TTCP) and porous iron (pFe) were compounded by stirring and vacuum negative pressure, and then they were blended with polylactic acid and a porous scaffold (named TTCP@pFe/PLA) was prepared by selective laser sintering. On the one hand, molten polylactic acid penetrates the pores of porous iron to form an interlocking network, thereby achieving mechanical strengthening.

This work considers the flow field as two-dimensional turbulent flow and studies the steady-state properties of heat transfer and the pressure of the suspension nozzle. An adiabatic wall parallel to the moving wall and two slit entrances at either end of the adiabatic wall make up the rectangular flow field. The SST turbulence model is used in the turbulence computation.

The study of structural isomerism in copper nanoclusters has been relatively limited compared to that in gold and silver nanoclusters. In this work, we present the controlled synthesis and structures of two isomeric copper nanoclusters, denoted as Cu22-1 and Cu22-2, whose compositions were determined to be Cu(SePh)(Se)(P(Ph-F)) through single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD). The structural isomerism of Cu22-1 and Cu22-2 arises from the different arrangements of a few Cu(SeR)(PR) motifs on the surface structure.

Introduction: Acute pulmonary embolism (APE) is a life-threatening medical condition that is frequently encountered and associated with significant incidence and mortality rates, posing a substantial threat to patients' well-being and quality of life. Sepsis is prominent independent risk factor for the development of APE. Despite recent investigations indicating a reduced APE risk through statin therapy, its impact on patients with sepsis and APE remains unresolved.

Owing to the increasing need for green synthesis and environmental protection, the utilization of biological organism-derived carbons as supports for noble-metal electrocatalysts has garnered public interest. Nevertheless, the mechanism by which microorganisms generate nanometals has not been fully understood yet. In the present study, we used genetically engineered bacteria of Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 (∆SO4317, ∆SO4320, ∆SO0618 and ∆SO3745) to explore the effect of surface substances including biofilm-associated protein (bpfA), protein secreted by type I secretion systems (TISS) and type II secretion systems (T2SS), and lipopolysaccharide in microbial synthesis of metal nanoparticles.

Purpose: Kidney transplantation is the optimal treatment for patients with end-stage kidney disease. Donor-specific urinary extracellular vesicles (uEVs) hold potential as biomarkers for assessing allograft status. We aimed to develop a method for identifying donor-specific uEVs based on human leukocyte antigen (HLA) mismatching with the kidney transplant recipients (KTRs).

Elevated expression of long non-coding RNA homeobox A cluster antisense RNA 2 (lncRNA HOXA-AS2) is known to have prognostic value in various solid tumors. The present meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively quantify its prognostic significance across a wider spectrum of malignancies and to provide an updated synthesis of evidence that could refine prognostic models. To achieve this aim, multiple databases were carefully searched for lncRNA HOXA-AS2-related articles published in the past 10 years.

The DNA N6-methyladenine (6mA) is an epigenetic modification, which plays a pivotal role in biological processes encompassing gene expression, DNA replication, repair, and recombination. Therefore, the precise identification of 6mA sites is fundamental for better understanding its function, but challenging. We proposed an improved ensemble-based method for predicting DNA N6-methyladenine sites in cross-species genomes called SoftVoting6mA.

Background: Fractures heal through a process that involves angiogenesis and osteogenesis but may also lead to non-union or delayed healing. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) have been reported to play a pivotal role in bone formation and vascular regeneration and the p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) as being an important regulator of osteogenesis. Herein, we aim to determine the potential mediation of BMSCs by p75NTR in bone healing.

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most prevalent, abundant, and conserved internal modification in the eukaryotic messenger RNA (mRNAs) and plays a crucial role in the cellular process. Although more than ten methods were developed for m6A detection over the past decades, there were rooms left to improve the predictive accuracy and the efficiency. In this paper, we proposed an improved method for predicting m6A modification sites, which was based on bi-directional gated recurrent unit (Bi-GRU) and convolutional neural networks (CNN), called Deepm6A-MT.
