Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder, and various molecules associated with PANoptosis are involved in neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases. This work aims to identify key genes, and characterize PANoptosis-related molecular subtypes in AD. Moreover, we establish a scoring system for distinguishing PANoptosis molecular subtypes and constructing diagnostic models for AD differentiation.

Gut bacteria might play an important role in male reproductive disorders, such as male infertility and sperm abnormalities; however, their causal role is unclear. Herein, Mendelian randomization (MR)-Egger, weighted median, inverse variance weighting, Simple mode, and Weighted mode were used to test the causal relationship between gut microbes and male reproductive diseases. The MR results were validated using various metrics.

Time-restricted eating (TRE) is a promising obesity management strategy, but weight-loss efficacy varies among participants, and the underlying mechanism is unclear. The study aimed to investigate the role of gut microbiota in weight-loss response during long-term TRE intervention. We analyzed data from 51 obese adults in a 12-month TRE program, categorizing them into distinct weight loss groups (DG) and moderate weight loss groups (MG) based on their TRE responses.

Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a major cause of vision loss in workingage individuals worldwide. Cell-to-cell communication between retinal cells and retinal pigment epithelial cells (RPEs) in DR is still unclear, so this study aimed to generate a single-cell atlas and identify receptor‒ligand communication between retinal cells and RPEs.
Methods: A mouse single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) dataset was retrieved from the GEO database (GSE178121) and was further analyzed with the R package Seurat.

Introduction: Growing concerns regarding the reproductive toxicity associated with daily life exposure to micro-/nano-plastics (abbreviated as MNPs) have become increasingly prevalent. In reality, MNPs exposure involves a heterogeneous mixture of MNPs of different sizes rather than a single size.
Methods: In this study, an oral exposure mouse model was used to evaluate the effects of MNPs of four size ranges: 25-30 nm, 1-5 µm, 20-27 µm, and 125-150 µm.

Introduction: Acne vulgaris is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease originating in the sebaceous gland units of the skin follicles. Isotretinoin is presently the primary choice for the treatment of acne vulgaris. However, it could induce several adverse reactions like diarrhea, cheilitis, headache, elevated triglyceride levels and risk of inflammatory bowel disease and depression.

Immunotherapy has emerged as a promising modality for addressing advanced or conventionally drug-resistant malignancies. When it comes to lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), T cells have demonstrated significant influence on both antitumor activity and the tumor microenvironment. However, their specific contributions remain largely unexplored.

Background: This study aimed to explore technetium-99m-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Tc-DTPA) renal dynamic imaging to evaluate duplex kidney function in adult patients.
Subjects And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 25 patients with duplex kidneys who underwent Tc-DTPA renal dynamic imaging between June 2011 and March 2023 at our hospital. Patients in the duplex kidney group (n = 25) were divided into renogram normal (n = 9) and abnormal (n = 16) groups according to the imaging data.

Objectives: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease that disproportionately affects women. Early diagnosis and prevention are crucial for women's health, and the gut microbiota has been found to be strongly associated with SLE. This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers for SLE by characterizing the gut microbiota landscape using feature selection and exploring the use of machine learning (ML) algorithms with significantly dysregulated microbiotas (SDMs) for early identification of SLE patients.

Background: PANoptosis represents a newly identified form of programmed cell death that plays a significant role in the autoimmune diseases. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is characterized by the presence of autoantibodies. Nevertheless, the specific biomarkers and molecular mechanisms responsible for the apoptotic characteristics of RA remain largely uninvestigated.

Background: Unilateral twin ectopic pregnancy is extremely rare in natural pregnancy, with an incidence rate of only 1 in 200,000-2,500,000, represents a major health risk for reproductive-aged women, leading to even life-threatening complications. There is a lack of data on the prevalence of this rare disease after in-vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) cycles.
Case Report: We present a case of a 51-year-old woman with rare unilateral twin ectopic pregnancy after frozen embryo transfer treated with bilateral salpingectomy, followed by a review of the literature.

Background: Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN) is clinically manifestations as a rapidly progressive renal failure and pathologically as crescentic and necrotizing lesions with infiltration of inflammatory cells in the glomeruli. Uremic encephalopathy (UE) usually develops in patients who are suffering from acute or chronic renal failure.
Objective: The purpose of this article is to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of renal disease complicated with seizures.

While Bayesian networks (BNs) offer a promising approach to discussing factors related to many diseases, little attention has been poured into chronic kidney disease with mental illness (KDMI) using BNs. This study aimed to explore the complex network relationships between KDMI and its related factors and to apply Bayesian reasoning for KDMI, providing a scientific reference for its prevention and treatment. Data was downloaded from the online open database of CHARLS 2018, a population-based longitudinal survey.

Hydroxamic acid (HA) derivatives display antibacterial and antifungal activities. HA with various numbers of carbon atoms (C, C, C, C, C and C), complexed with different metal ions, including Fe(II/III), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), were evaluated for their antimycobacterial activities and their anti-biofilm activities. Some derivatives showed antimycobacterial activities, especially in biofilm growth conditions.

The emerging field of nutritional psychiatry offers proof that diet quality can be changed to reduce one's risk of developing mental illness. What you eat has a big impact on teenage mental health, and the quality and frequency of breakfast, as well as the different food groups, can affect adolescent mental health. In this study, regression models were employed to analyze four indicators (self-rated health, body satisfaction, life satisfaction, and eight symptoms) of mental health problems as well as demographic factors (gender, age, body mass index, affluence class, physical activity), with forest plots displaying the regression connections.

Background: Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is the most prevalent acquired kidney disease leading to end-stage renal disease in children and has a propensity for recurring in the transplanted kidney. The recurrence of FSGS after kidney transplantation in children varies greatly. In addition, the risk factors and outcomes of recurrence of FSGS remain controversial.

The lack of optimal stratification for RA patients may be a contributing factor to the poor efficacy of current treatment options. The objective of this study is to elucidate the molecular characteristics of RA through the utilization of mitochondrial genes and subsequently construct and authenticate a diagnostic framework for RA.

Background: N7-methylguanosine (m7G) is one of the most common RNA posttranscriptional modifications; however, its potential role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unknown. We developed a prediction signature based on m7G-related long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) to predict HCC prognosis and provide a reference for immunotherapy and chemotherapy.
Methods: RNA-seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and relevant clinical data were used.
