Buzhong Tiaogan Formula for delaying colorectal liver metastasis (liver depression spleen deficient type): A multicenter randomized controlled trial: A study protocol.

Introduction: Colorectal cancer has been ranked third among the most common cancers worldwide and raised to the second leading cause of cancer death with nearly one-tenth of cancer-related deaths globally, and nearly half of colorectal cancer patients present with or develop colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM). Buzhong Tiaogan Formula (BTF) has been proven to treat CRLM in our team, but there are lacking of evidence on its effective in delaying colorectal liver metastasis (liver depression spleen deficiency type), so we will evaluate the efficacy and safety of BTF in preventing the occurrence of CRLM.

Methods: This randomized controlled trial (RCT) will be carried out in 3 different hospitals in Shanxi Province planning to recruit 150 CRLM patients with the type of liver depression spleen deficiency.

Effect of acupuncture on menopausal hot flushes and serum hormone levels: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy/effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for the treatment of hot flushes and its impact on serum hormone levels in menopausal women.

Methods: A total of 10 databases were searched from their inception to August 2018. Reference lists of reviews and included articles were also hand-searched.

Multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOCs) have been emerging and some have been linked to an increase in case numbers globally. However, there is yet a lack of understanding of the molecular basis for the interactions between the human ACE2 (hACE2) receptor and these VOCs. Here we examined several VOCs including Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, and demonstrate that five variants receptor-binding domain (RBD) increased binding affinity for hACE2, and four variants pseudoviruses increased entry into susceptible cells.

There is evidence showing that acupuncture could enhance management of insomnia, and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) is one of the promising acupoints. This review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of stimulating single acupoint SP 6 in managing insomnia.

Effect of electroacupuncture in pre- and postmenopausal women with stress urinary incontinence: A subgroup analysis of two randomised clinical trials.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture and assess the impact of menopausal status in women with stress urinary incontinence or stress-predominant mixed urinary incontinence.

Methods: This study was conducted as a subgroup analysis of the data collected from two multicentre, randomised controlled trials conducted on 1004 women; 384 of these subjects were pre- or postmenopausal women who received the same electroacupuncture treatment for stress urinary incontinence or stress-predominant mixed urinary incontinence. The primary outcome evaluated in this study was the proportion of subjects who had at least a 50% reduction in the mean 72-hour incontinence episodes frequency from baseline and the difference between pre- and postmenopausal groups, as measured at the end of 6 weeks using the 72-hour bladder dairy.

Background: This study aimed to assess the clinical significance of the maximal first derivative of the radial pulse wave (Rad dP/dtmax) in monitoring cardiac function with different perioperative patients by researching the relationship between Rad dP/dtmax and cardiac output (CO).

Methods: Patients with non-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and open liver tumor resection (OLTR) were enrolled in this study (n=10). CO was measured using the thermodilution Swan-Ganz catheter method and Rad dP/dtmax was acquired by the analysis of patients' left radial artery pressure waveform through the PowerLab data acquisition device.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The aim was to investigate the effectiveness and safety of electroacupuncture (EA) in women with balanced mixed urinary incontinence (MUI) compared with PFMT plus solifenacin.

Methods: This is a secondary analysis of a randomized non-inferiority clinical trial. Seventy-nine patients with balanced MUI were randomly assigned to receive either 12-week EA with 24-week follow-up or 36-week PFMT and solifenacin.

Background: Osteoporosis is an important cause of bone fractures and even a cause of threaten to the lives of elderly people. Mind-body exercises are beneficial interventions for improving flexibility, controlling body balance, and reducing pain. To assess the effect of mind-body exercise on osteoporosis in aging people, we will perform this systematic review.

Electroacupuncture versus solifenacin for women with urgency-predominant mixed urinary incontinence: a protocol for a three-armed non-inferiority randomized controlled trial.

Background: Among women suffering from urinary incontinence (UI), about one-third are diagnosed with mixed urinary incontinence (MUI), among which urgency-predominant MUI causes more shame and inconvenience to patients. The treatments for urgency-predominant MUI have limited guidelines and previous studies have indicated that electroacupuncture (EA) might be a safe and effective option. The present study aims to evaluate the effect of EA on women with urgency-predominant MUI.
