Background: Aerobic glycolysis is a tumor cell phenotype and a hallmark in cancer research. The alternative splicing of the pyruvate kinase M (PKM) gene regulates the expressions of PKM1/2 isoforms and the aerobic glycolysis of tumors. Polypyrimidine tract binding protein (PTBP1) is critical in this process; however, its impact and underlying mechanisms in colorectal cancer (CRC) remain unclear.

Cervical cancer ranks as the third most prevalent malignancy in women worldwide. The persistence of Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection stands out as the foremost risk factor for cervical cancer development. Among the numerous HPV subtypes, HPV16 infection emerges as the primary pathogenic determinant of cervical cancer.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common respiratory disease. Currently, no specific treatment strategy has been established; therefore, finding new treatment methods is essential. Clinically, Shenqi Huatan Decoction (SQHT) is a traditional Chinese medicinal formula for COPD treatment; however, its mechanism of action in treatment needs to be clarified.

The emerging Omicron subvariants have a remarkable ability to spread and escape nearly all current monoclonal antibody (mAb) treatments. Although the virulence of SARS-CoV-2 has now diminished, it remains a significant threat to public health due to its high transmissibility and susceptibility to mutation. Therefore, it is urgent to develop broad-acting and potent therapeutics targeting current and emerging Omicron variants.

Background: CD147, a transmembrane glycoprotein, has been implicated in various cancer-related processes but its role in breast cancer remains poorly understood. Herein, we investigated the expression of CD147 in different breast cancer cell lines and explored its functional roles, including migration, invasion, drug resistance and modulation of key proteins associated with cancer progression.
Methods: The expression of CD147 was assessed in MCF-10 A, BT549, MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines using qRT-PCR and Western blotting, following which lyposome transfections were performed, leading overexpression of CD147 in BT549 cells and knockdown of CD147 in MCF-7 cells.

Low-grade glioma (LGG) poses significant management challenges and has a dismal prognosis. While immunotherapy has shown significant promise in cancer treatment, its progress in glioma has confronted with challenges. In our study, we aimed to develop an immune-related gene prognostic index (IRGPI) which could be used to evaluate the response and efficacy of LGG patients with immunotherapy.

Background: Recurrence is the main cause of death in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients after liver resection.
Objective: The long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported participated in progression and prognosis of HCC, however, the vital role of lncRNA in postoperative recurrence of HCC has rarely been systematically identified.
Methods: RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) was performed between orthotopic model of HCC and hepatoma postoperative recurrent model to comprehensively analyze the integrated transcriptome expression profiles of lncRNA and mRNA.

Introduction: Albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-PTX), a novel paclitaxel preparation, has been found to successfully blocks tumor progression in breast and lung cancer. However, at the same time of as clinical application, neurotoxicity caused by nab-PTX has become the main factor limiting the clinical application of nab-PTX, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients and increases their psychological or financial burden. In clinical applications, JHGWD combined with bloodletting therapy at the end of the extremities has a positive effect on neurotoxic symptoms such as numbness, pain, and weakness of the hands and feet caused by nab-PTX.

Identifying the underlying mechanisms and exploring effective therapies for intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) are urgently needed. Here, we aim to elucidate the potential roles and underlying mechanisms of Buyang Huanwu decoction (BYHWD) in ICH. In the first set of experiments, rats were randomly divided into five groups: Sham, ICH, ICH + sodium oxamate (OXA), ICH + BYHWD, and ICH + BYHWD + OXA.

Pyroptosis plays a critical role in the occurrence and development of colon cancer (CC). However, the specific mechanisms of pyroptosis patterns on immune regulation and tumor microenvironment (TME) formation in CC remain unclear. Based on 30 pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs), we evaluated the pyroptosis patterns of 1689 CC samples from the Cancer Genome Atlas and the Gene Expression Omnibus databases.

Omicron SARS-CoV-2 is rapidly spreading worldwide. To delineate the impact of emerging mutations on spike's properties, we performed systematic structural analyses on apo Omicron spike and its complexes with human ACE2 or S309 neutralizing antibody (NAb) by cryo-EM. The Omicron spike preferentially adopts the one-RBD-up conformation both before and after ACE2 binding, which is in sharp contrast to the orchestrated conformational changes to create more up-RBDs upon ACE2 binding as observed in the prototype and other four variants of concern (VOCs).

Objective: To investigate the short-term efficacy and safety outcomes following a sequential treatment with clearing heat and eliminating phlegm (CHEP) formula and tonifying Qi and activating blood circulation (TQABC) formula in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) within a 72 h time window.
Methods: In this randomized, multicenter, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial, 500 participants will be randomly assigned in a ratio of 1∶1 to the CHEP+ TQABC group or control group. In addition to guideline-based standard medical care, participants in the treatment group will receive the CHEP formula for the first 5 consecutive days followed by the TQABC formula for another 10 consecutive days, while those in the control group will receive CHEP formula placebo and TQABC formula placebo consecutively.
