Silicosis is a systemic disease marked by diffuse pulmonary fibrosis resulting from prolonged inhalation of crystalline silica (CS) dust. This study aimed to examine the effects of anisodamine (ANI) on pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in silicosis, as well as to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms. Animal experiments demonstrated that ANI significantly reduced alveolar structure damage and the formation of silicosis nodules in affected mice, as confirmed by pathological slides.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) system can provide real-time 3D images and fluoroscopy images of the region of interest during the operation. Some systems can even offer augmented fluoroscopy and puncture guidance. The use of CBCT for interventional pulmonary procedures has grown significantly in recent years, and numerous clinical studies have confirmed the technology's efficacy and safety in the diagnosis, localization, and treatment of pulmonary nodules.

Background: IPF is a complex lung disease whose aetiology is not fully understood, but diet may have an impact on its development and progression. Therefore, we investigated the potential causal connection between dietary intake and IPF through TSMR to offer insights for early disease prevention recommendations.
Methods: The study incorporated 29 dietary exposure factors, oily fish intake, bacon intake, processed meat intake, poultry intake, beef intake, pork intake, lamb/mutton intake, non-oily fish intake, fresh fruit intake, cooked vegetable intake, baked bean intake, fresh tomato intake, tinned tomato intake, salad/raw vegetable intake, Fresh fruit intake, coffee intake, tea intake, water intake, red wine intake, average weekly beer plus cider intake, alcoholic drinks per week, cereal intake, bread intake, whole-wheat intake, whole-wheat cereal intake, cheese intake, yogurt intake, salt added to food and whole egg intake.

We aimed to explore the effect of dibazol on the ophthalmic artery (OA) and ophthalmic artery smooth muscle cells (OASMCs) of C57BL/6J mice as well as the underlying mechanisms. The OA of C57BL/6J mice was isolated under a dissecting microscope for primary OASMCs culture and myogenic tests. OASMCs were identified through morphological and immunofluorescence analyses.

Dysregulated connexin signaling is implicated in the pathophysiology of pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). Nicotine affects pulmonary vascular remodeling. However, the potential mechanistic link between connexin signaling and nicotine-induced pulmonary artery remodeling remains unclear.

To study the effects of specific isoforms of classic protein kinase C (cPKCs) on hypoxia-induced proliferation and the expression of ERK1/2 and Akt using drug intervention or virus transfection in . Dynal MPC-1 magnetic particle concentrator was used to separate iron-containing pulmonary arterioles fragments, and the pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) were primary cultured and identified. The cells were intervened by PKC agonist (PMA), PKCα inhibitor (safingol), PKCβⅠ inhibitor (Go6976) and PKCβⅡ inhibitor (LY333531) respectively, and the changes in protein expressions of cPKCs, and the phosphorylation levels of ERK1/2 and Akt were observed by immunoblotting under the condition of normal oxygen or hypoxia.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a chronic progressive disease characterized by pulmonary vasoconstriction and remodeling. It causes a gradual increase in pulmonary vascular resistance leading to right-sided heart failure, and may be fatal. Chronic exposure to cigarette smoke (CS) is an essential risk factor for PH group 3; however, smoking continues to be prevalent and smoking cessation is reported to be difficult.

Context: Farrerol, a typical natural flavanone isolated from the traditional Chinese herb 'Man-shan-hong' [ L. (Ericaceae)] with phlegm-reducing and cough-relieving properties, is widely used in China for treating bronchitis and asthma.
Objective: To present the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, vasoactive, antitumor, and antimicrobial effects of farrerol and its underlying molecular mechanisms.

This study is designed to investigate the role of novel protein kinases C (nPKC) in mediating pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) proliferation in pulmonary hypertension (PH) and the underlying mechanisms. Mouse PASMCs was isolated using magnetic separation technology. The PASMCs were divided into 24 h group, 48 h group and 72 h group according to different hypoxia treatment time, then detected cell proliferation rate and nPKC expression level in each group.

Hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH) may contribute to vascular remodeling, and pulmonary artery smooth muscle cell (PASMC) proliferation has an important role in this process. However, no relevant information concerning the role and mechanism of protein kinase C (PKC)α in hypoxia‑induced rat PASMC proliferation has been elucidated. The present study aimed to further investigate this by comparison of rat PASMC proliferation among normoxia for 72 h (21% O2), hypoxia for 72 h (3% O2), hypoxia + promoter 12‑myristate 13‑acetate control, hypoxia + safingol control, hypoxia + PD98059 control and hypoxia + U0126 control groups.

The methyltransferase-like 21C gene (METTL21C), which is mainly expressed in muscle, can promote the differentiation of myoblasts to myotubes and reduce glucocorticoid-induced apoptosis of osteocytes. The purpose of this study was to explore the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms of METTL21C and peak bone mineral density (BMD), body mass index, total fat mass (TFM), and total lean mass (TLM) in Chinese young men. Fifteen tagging single nucleotide polymorphisms were genotyped, and haplotype blocks were derived in 400 Chinese male nuclear families.
