Amidst the global restructuring of the semiconductor supply chain, this paper constructs a global semiconductor trade network (2007, 2012, 2017, 2021) encompassing three segments (raw materials, equipment, and finished components), based on the CEPII database. After initially exploring trade flows among different regions, the paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the network's overall structure and the significance of its nodes. Furthermore, the evolution of the trade network's community structure is discussed and its robustness and dynamics over recent years are assessed through computer program simulation.

Among the Poly(ADP-ribose) Polymerase (PARP) family in mammals, PARP1 is the first identified and well-studied member that plays a critical role in DNA damage repair and has been proven to be an effective target for cancer therapy. Here, we have reviewed not only the role of PARP1 in different DNA damage repair pathways, but also the working mechanisms of several PARP inhibitors (PARPi), inhibiting Poly-ADP-ribosylation (PARylation) processing and PAR chains production to trap PARP1 on impaired DNA and inducing Transcription- replication Conflicts (TRCs) by inhibiting the PARP1 activity. This review has systematically summarized the latest clinical application of six authorized PARPi, including olaparib, rucaparib, niraparib, talazoparib, fuzuloparib and pamiparib, in monotherapy and combination therapies with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy, in different kinds of cancer.

Landfill gas (LFG) has become the second-largest anthropogenic source of methane (CH) emissions globally. CH is the second most significant greenhouse gas after carbon dioxide (CO), thus it is crucial to mitigate the methane emission of landfills. The soil in landfill cover layers is rich in methane-oxidizing bacteria (MOB), which use CH as their sole carbon and energy source.

The development of rapid and multiplexed point-of-care (POC) diagnostic tools is vital for the prevention and control of sexually transmitted diseases (STIs). Here, we developed a POC-comprehensive Thermococcus thioreducensArgonaute (TtrAgo)-mediated nucleic acid detection system (POC-CANDY) and palm-sized portable detection device "Owl-1" for the simultaneous detection of Ureaplasma urealyticum, Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, human papillomavirus types 16/18 and antibiotic resistance molecular markers [tetM, and gyrA mutation (S91F)]. Using recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA), the optimized POC-CANDY could finish the whole detection procedure within 55 min and achieve a limit of detection of 10 copies/μL.

Although electrochemical biosensors have been developed to detect multiple microRNAs (miRNAs) simultaneously through loading different capture probes, high surface-induced perturbation and competition among probes have reduced the detection sensitivity. To address these challenges, a trefoil DNA capture probe (TDCP) was designed for microRNA-21 (miR-21) and microRNA-16 (miR-16) detection simultaneously. The TDCP exhibits a stable structure, low spatial resistance, and integral rigidity, which decreases high surface-induced perturbations and competition to improve the accessibility of the target miRNA.

Geese, both wild and domestic, are generally considered part of the natural reservoir for influenza A viruses. The highly pathogenic H5 Goose/Guangdong avian influenza virus lineage that is still causing outbreaks worldwide was first detected in domestic geese in 1996. However, while wild geese might have a somewhat restricted role in the influenza ecosystem, the role of domestic geese is little studied.

With the rapid industrialization and urbanization of coastal areas, marine pollution (such as heavy metals) is increasingly contaminating the environment, posing significant public health risks. Eastern Guangdong, a key aquaculture and fisheries hub in China, has a growing market for aquatic products. Heavy metals persist in the environment and are difficult to degrade and bioaccumulate in marine organisms through the food web, presenting carcinogenic and mutagenic risks to humans, as top predators.

Aneurysm modeling and simulation play an important role in many specialist areas in the field of medicine such as surgical education and training, clinical diagnosis and prediction, and treatment planning. Despite the considerable effort invested in developing computational fluid dynamics so far, visual simulation of blood flow dynamics in aneurysms, especially the under-explored aspect of bifurcation aneurysms, remains a challenging issue. To alleviate the situation, this study introduces a novel Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)-based method to model and visually simulate blood flow, bifurcation progression, and fluid-structure interaction.

During meiosis, each pair of homologous chromosomes becomes connected by at least one crossover, as required for accurate segregation, and adjacent crossovers are widely separated thereby limiting total numbers. In coarsening models, this crossover patterning results from nascent recombination sites competing to accrue a limiting pro-crossover RING-domain protein (COR) that diffuses between synapsed chromosomes. Here, we delineate the localization dynamics of three mammalian CORs in the mouse and determine their interdependencies.
