Background: This study aims to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) when used as an add-on therapy for individuals with persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD).

Methods: In this randomized controlled, double-blind trial conducted at Shangluo Central Hospital, patients with PPPD diagnosed in the neurology departments were included. Participants were randomized into a rTMS treatment group and a control group in a 1:1 ratio by the randomized grouping method.

This study aimed to investigate how aquaporin 1 (AQP1) modulates hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF1α) to promote glycolysis and drive the M1 polarization of macrophages. Within 12 h post-treatment with LPS to induce acute kidney injury in rats, a significant upregulation of AQP1 and HIF1α protein levels was noted in serum and kidney tissues. This elevation corresponded with a decrease in blood glucose concentrations and an enhancement of glycolytic activity relative to the control group.

Methods: This was a nationwide multicenter observational study that enrolled participants who diagnosed with solid tumors and received ICIs therapy. A dramatic shift in the global food system is occurring with the rapid growth of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) consumption, which poses potentially serious health risks. Systematic review (SR) method has been used to summarise the association between UPF consumption and multiple health outcomes; however, a suboptimal-quality SR may mislead the decision-making in clinical practices and health policies. Therefore, a methodological review was conducted to identify the areas that can be improved regarding the risk of bias and reporting quality of relevant SRs.

Effect and Safety of Pioglitazone-Metformin Tablets in the Treatment of Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes Patients with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Shaanxi Province: A Randomized, Double-Blinded, Double-Simulated Multicenter Study.

Objective: The aim of study was to evaluate the effect and safety of pioglitazone-metformin combined treatment in the newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

Methods: A total of 120 newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease from 8 centers were randomly divided into the control group (metformin hydrochloride) and the test group (pioglitazone hydrochloride and metformin hydrochloride).

Results: Compared to the control group, after treatment, the proportion of people with mild and moderate fatty liver increased, and the proportion of people with severe fatty liver decreased, and this change was more obvious in the population with moderate and severe fatty liver.

An Evaluation of Fluorouracil plus Paclitaxel and Oxiliplatin as a First-Line Treatment for Advanced Gastric Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of fluorouracil (FU) combined with paclitaxel (PTX) and oxaliplatin (OXA) as the first-line treatment for advanced gastric signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) and its influence on human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) expression.

Methods: We collected one hundred and sixty-eight patients with advanced gastric SRCC, including 87 patients treated with FU combined with PTX and OXA as the study group (SG) and 81 patients treated with FU combined with OXA as the control group (CG). We compared indicators such as efficacy and adverse reactions after treatment between the two groups and also detected serum HER-2 expression pre- and post-treatment.

Methods: In this double-centre, randomized, controlled study, 120 CKD patients complicated with HUA were recruited and randomly assigned to low-dose febuxostat group (20 mg/day) or allopurinol group (200 mg/day) at 1:1 ratio. The serum creatinine (Scr), serum uric acid (SUA), and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were measured at baseline (M0), month (M) 1, M3, and M6.

The diagnostic efficacy of coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) images of coronary arteries in restenosis after coronary stenting based on the combination of the convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm and the automatic segmentation algorithm for region growth of vascular similarity features was explored to provide a more effective diagnostic method for patients. 130 patients with coronary artery disease were randomly selected as the research objects, and they were averagely classified into the control group (conventional coronary CTA image diagnosis) and the observation group (coronary CTA image diagnosis based on an improved automatic segmentation algorithm). Based on the diagnostic criteria of coronary angiography (CAG), the efficacy of two kinds of coronary CTA images on the postoperative subsequent visit of coronary heart disease (CHD) stenting was evaluated.
