Rationale And Objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common pathogenesis of dementia, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is considered as the intermediate stage from normal elderly to AD. Early detection of MCI is an essential step for the timely intervention of AD to slow the progression of this disease. Different form previous studies in the whole-brain spontaneous activities, this research aimed to explore the low-frequency amplitude spectrum activities of patients with MCI within the default mode network (DMN), which has been involved in the process of maintaining normal cognitive function.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic liver disorder closely linked to metabolic syndrome. Identifying novel, easily measurable biomarkers could significantly enhance the diagnosis and management of NAFLD in clinical settings. Recent studies suggest that immunoinflammatory biomarkers-specifically, the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR)-may offer diagnostic value for NAFLD.

This study aimed to explore the causal relationships between multiple blood amino acids (BAAs) and the Parkinson's disease (PD). We downloaded genome-wide association study (GWAS) data for BAAs and PD from the OpenGWAS database, screened single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from the data, and evaluated the causal relationship between BAA levels and PD using the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method. The sensitivity analysis was also conducted.

Gouty arthritis (GA) is an inflammatory disorder characterized by deposition of monosodium urate (MSU) crystal in joints. Phillyrin, a natural compound with anti-inflammatory properties, shows promise in mitigating inflammatory responses. This study investigates the therapeutic potential of phillyrin in GA and explores its mechanisms of action.

Evidence regarding the role of chronic low-grade inflammation in the progression of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) and cardiometabolic multimorbidity (CMM) is currently limited. This prospective cohort study, utilising data from the UK Biobank, included 273,804 adults aged 40-69 years initially free of CMD at baseline. CMM was defined as the coexistence of two or more CMDs, such as coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension and stroke.

Objectives: To assess the efficacy of the Chinese herbal medication Shugan Hewei formula (SHF) combined with rabeprazole in patients with refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease (rGERD).
Method: A total of 264 participants were randomly assigned to the treatment group (n = 132) receiving SHF granules (20 mg) combined with rabeprazole (10 mg) and the control group (n = 132) receiving placebo SHF granules (20 mg) combined with rabeprazole (20 mg). Both groups undergo 8 weeks of treatment and 2 weeks of follow-up.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common malignancies and a leading cause of death in men. Owing to its excellent anti-tumor effects, androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is widely used in the treatment of prostate cancer. However, its use is controversial because of its potential for inducing cognitive decline.

Background: Numerous randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have reported the benefits of external diaphragm pacing combined with conventional rehabilitation therapies (EDP-CRTs) on pulmonary function and exercise capacity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, evidence-based regarding its effects remains unclear.
Objectives: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of EDP-CRTs CRTs on patients with COPD.

Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease and the main pathology behind most cardiovascular diseases and the overactivation of macrophages initiates the development of atherosclerosis. However, the specific functions of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) in macrophages remain elusive. Macrophages derived from monocyte (THP-1) were treated with ox-LDL and were used to generate atherosclerosis in an in vitro model.

Anti-inflammation medication is one of the most important treatment for people with atopic dermatitis (AD) which presents persistent type 2 inflammation in skin lesions. Interaction between activated keratinocytes and immune cells in AD skin lesions amplifies inflammatory signaling by augmenting production of cytokines, such as keratinocyte-derived thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) and interleukin-33 (IL-33). Phellopterin is a bioactive compound isolated from ethanol extract of Angelica dahurica root which has been traditionally used for AD therapy in China.

Introduction And Hypothesis: To examine the changes induced by electroacupuncture in stress urinary incontinence (SUI) rats, including the urodynamics and collagen degradation-related cytokine molecular biological expression changes, and to explore the effect and mechanism of EA treatment in SUI.
Methods: Female SPF Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to five groups (n = 10): sham, model, electroacupuncture control, electroacupuncture, and blocker. The leak point pressure (LPP) and maximum bladder capacity (MBC) were measured for each group of rats, and collagen I, collagen III, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMPs) in the anterior vaginal wall of rats in each group were determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and western blotting.

Disruption of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is an important hallmark of sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE). Selegiline, a selective and irreversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase type B, has been applied for the treatment of nervous disorders. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether selegiline has a protective capacity in the impairment of the BBB in both in vivo and in vitro experiments.

Working memory (WM), a central component of general cognition, plays an essential role in human beings' daily lives. WM impairments often occur in psychiatric, neurodegenerative, and neurodevelopmental disorders, mainly presenting as loss of high-load WM. In previous research, electroacupuncture (EA) has been shown to be an effective treatment for cognitive impairments.
