Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop an innovative solution for chronic wounds in high-mobility areas, such as joints, where conventional treatments are hindered by passive healing mechanisms and the need for immobilization. By designing a micro-electro-Nanofiber dressing composed of piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) integrated with antimicrobial silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), this research aims to address the dual challenges of promoting effective wound healing and maintaining joint mobility.
Methods: Herein, we developed a novel micro-electro-Nanofiber dressing using electrospinning technology, incorporating polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs).

Increasing evidence has shown that physical exercise remarkably inhibits oncogenesis and progression of numerous cancers and exercise-responsive microRNAs (miRNAs) exert a marked role in exercise-mediated tumor suppression. In this research, expression and prognostic values of exercise-responsive miRNAs were examined in breast cancer (BRCA) and further pan-cancer types. In addition, multiple independent public and in-house cohorts, in vitro assays involving multiple, macrophages, fibroblasts, and tumor cells, and in vivo models were utilized to uncover the tumor-suppressive roles of miR-29a-3p in cancers.

Introduction: This study investigated segmented assimilation patterns and factors influencing health education utilization (HEU) among internal migrant populations in China, driven by concerns over their declining health owing to urbanization-related changes.
Methods: Data from the 2017 China Migrants Dynamic Survey were analyzed, focusing on 13,998 rural migrants. Negative binomial regression was used to explore assimilation patterns and determine the factors affecting HEU among internal migrants in China.

Purpose: Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) has shown feasibility in evaluating cognitive function and brain functional connectivity (FC). Therefore, this fNIRS study aimed to develop a screening method for subjective cognitive decline (SCD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) based on resting-state prefrontal FC and neuropsychological tests via machine learning.
Methods: Functional connectivity data measured by fNIRS were collected from 55 normal controls (NCs), 80 SCD individuals, and 111 MCI individuals.

The latest studies have demonstrated that aberrant expression of microRNA-146a is related to cognitive decline. The rs57095329 polymorphism occurring in the miR-146a promoter modulates its expression and causes downstream pathogenicity. A case-control study in a Chinese Han population was established to investigate the genetic association between the miR-146a rs57095329 polymorphism and postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD).

Background: The phenomenon of "kidney-brain crosstalk" has stimulated scholarly inquiry into the correlations between kidney injury (KI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Nonetheless, the precise interactions and shared mechanisms between KI and AD have yet to be fully investigated. The primary goal of this study was to investigate the link between KI and AD, with a specific focus on identifying diagnostic biomarkers for KI-related AD.

Background: Adenoid hypertrophy is a common disorder of childhood, and has an unclear pathogenesis. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant reduction in the incidence of adenoid hypertrophy in children under long-term home quarantine, providing a rare research model to explore the pathogenesis and treatment targets of adenoidal hypertrophy in children.
Methodology: Before and during the home quarantine period, adenoids that underwent surgery were detected using label-free proteomics.

Coagulopathy in sepsis is common and is associated with high mortality. Although immunothrombosis is necessary for infection control, excessive thrombus formation can trigger a systemic thrombo-inflammatory response. Immunothrombosis plays a core role in sepsis-induced coagulopathy, and research has revealed a complex interplay between inflammation and coagulation.

Background: The performance of the inflammatory biomarkers in the management of septic patients who received antimicrobial therapies is largely neglected. This study aimed to compare the accuracy of procalcitonin (PCT), neutrophil CD64 (CD64), and C-reactive protein (CRP) for the diagnosis and prognosis of septic patients after antimicrobial therapy.
Methods: This study prospectively recruited consecutive patients without infection and those diagnosed with infection but had received initial antimicrobial therapies.

Sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction (SIMD) involves reversible myocardial dysfunction. The use of inotropes can restore adequate cardiac output and tissue perfusion, but conventional inotropes, such as dobutamine and adrenaline, have limited efficacy in such situations. Levosimendan is a novel inotrope that acts in a catecholamine-independent manner.

Simultaneous inhibition of the bromodomain and extra-terminal domain and Aurora kinases is a promising anticancer therapeutic strategy. Based on our previous study on BET-kinase dual inhibitors, we employed the molecular docking approach to design novel dual BET-Aurora kinase A inhibitors. Through several rounds of optimization and with the guidance of the solved cocrystal structure of BRD4 bound to inhibitor , we finally obtained a series of highly potent dual BET-Aurora kinase A inhibitors.

Decentralized testing using multiplex lateral flow assays (mLFAs) to simultaneously detect multiple analytes can significantly enhance detection efficiency, reduce cost and time, and improve analytic accuracy. However, the challenges, including the monochromatic color of probe particles, interference between different test lines, and reduced specificity and sensitivity, severely hinder mLFAs from wide use. In this study, we prepared polydopamine (PDA)-coated dyed cellulose nanoparticles (dCNPs@P) with tunable colors as the probe for mLFAs.

Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), including pigeon breeder's lung (PBL), often progresses from acute inflammation to fibrosis, impairing lung function and limiting targeted therapeutic strategies. Mechanistic studies on PBL progression are limited by the lack of preclinical animal models and a predominant focus on patient data. This study explores the immunopathological characteristics of all stages of PBL in mice and evaluates the therapeutic potential of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) during the non-fibrotic stage.
