Exploring the Prognostic Value and Immune Infiltration Patterns of GPRC5A Across Multiple Cancer Types.

J Cancer

July 2024

Institute for Thoracic Oncology, Shanghai Chest Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China.

This study aimed to investigate the expression of GPRC5A in pan-cancer and its correlation with clinical outcomes, tumor immune microenvironment, and biological functions. The expression of GPRC5A was analyzed using 33 tumor datasets from the TCGA, GTEx and TCGA databases. Immunohistochemical images from the HPA database were also examined.

Monocyte chemotactic protein-1-induced protein-1 (MCPIP-1) is highly expressed in activated immune cells and negatively regulates immune responses, while the mechanisms underlying the immunoregulation of neutrophils in acute bacterial infection and liver injury remain elusive. Here, we examined the role of MCPIP-1 in regulating neutrophil functions during acute bacterial peritonitis and liver injury. Mice with myeloid cell-specific overexpression (McpipMye-tg) or knockout (McpipΔMye) of MCPIP-1 were generated.

Mitochondria are biosynthetic, bioenergetic, and signaling organelles existing in almost all eukaryotic cells, and their dysregulated function has been proved to be essential for tumorigenesis, tumor development, and tumor metastasis. In this short review, first, we briefly summarize the historic misunderstanding of mitochondria in tumors, and then come up with a current view that mitochondria play a pivotal role in tumor cells; second, we review how tumor cells rewind mitochondrial function for their oncogenic purpose via known or unknown mechanisms by key oncogenes or tumor suppressors; third, we go through reagents and strategies currently available targeting mitochondria when treating tumors. Recently, merging data suggest that slow cycling cancer cells/cancer stem cells have distinctive mitochondrial metabolism comparing to bulk tumor cells and mitochondria inhibitors seem to be promising to target them, which are resistant to traditional radio and chemotherapies.

Background: Myocardial injury is a complication of stroke associated with unfavorable outcome, with the elevation of cardiac troponin as the most sensitive marker. In this study, we aimed at investigating the association between statin pretreatment and poststroke myocardial injury.

Methods: Six hundred seventy-one patients diagnosed as acute ischemic stroke were enrolled.

Isolation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in peripheral blood from cancer patients bears critical importance for evaluation of therapeutic efficacy. The current CTC isolation strategies are majorly relying on either protein biomarkers or dimensional features of CTCs. In this study, we present a new methodology for CTC detection and isolation based on the surface charge of cancer cells, a bioelectrical manifestation of the "Warburg effect.

Introduction: Whether the AutoPulse automated chest compression device is worthy of clinical use for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains controversial. A prospective controlled study was conducted to evaluate the effect of AutoPulse versus manual chest compression for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) of OHCA patients in the northern district of Shanghai, China.

Material And Methods: A total of 133 patients with OHCA who were treated at the Emergency Medical Center of the Tenth People's Hospital Affiliated with Tongji University between March 2011 and March 2012 were included.
