Insulin resistance has been assigned a pivotal role in the pathological progression associated with type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases. However, the molecular mechanism involved in this progression is still incompletely understood, and there are still no effective approaches to scavenge it. Many biological molecules, such as ROS, IRS-1, PI3K, have been identified involving in the causes of insulin resistance.

Functioning free muscle transplantation FFMT is now an important procedure in several fields of reconstructive surgery. In this article, the progress of FFMT in restoring upper extremity function, including essential aspects like indications, preoperative examination, donor muscle selection, donor nerve selection, operative technique, tension of muscle at suturing, postoperative functional assessment, and changes of the transferred muscle after operation are discussed in detail.

Introduction: The treatment for humeral shaft fracture is still controversial, especially for complex fractures. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiographic outcomes of treating complex humeral shaft fractures by using locking compression plate with minimally invasive technique.
Materials And Methods: A total of 21 patients with 21 acute complex humeral shaft fractures (AO type C) were included in this study.

Aim: To investigate the influences of enteral, parenteral nutrition and probiotics delivered by gut on intestinal microecology, epithelial tight junctions, immune and barrier function of rats with abdominal infection.
Methods: Rat abdominal infection models established with cecal ligation and perforation method, were divided into three groups: parenteral nutrition (PN group, n = 7), PN+enteral nutrition (EN group, n = 7) and PN + EN + probiotics (probiotics group, n = 7) via the needle jejunostomy and neck vein for five days. The total nutritional supplement of the three groups was isonitrogenic and isocaloric.

Fracture dislocations of the knee involving the proximal tibia are difficult to treat because of the operative approach that maybe required and the instability of the construct. This paper evaluates the use of a two-incision approach with a medial double-plating technique. The clinical results of a case series of 42 patients collected prospectively are presented.

Aim: To observe the effect of cholecystokinin (CCK) on lipofusin value, neuronal dendrite and spine ultrastructure, and total cellular protein during the process of experimental neuronal aging.
Methods: Experimental neuronal aging study model was established by NBA2 cellular serum-free culture method. By using single intracellular lipofusin value from microspectrophotometry, morphology of neuronal dendrites and spines from the scanner electron microscopy, and total cellular protein as the indexes of experimental neuronal aging, we observed the effect of CCK8 on the process of experimental neuronal aging.
